Hello,
Normaly I speek (and write) in french or spanish; so I beg you pardon for the mistakes.
I've got a marvelous CB400Four 3 years ago, but today, I speak abaut my Yamaha RD200 typeA, from 1973. 22Hp and 255 pounds: the best in the town and twisting-slippery roads. I love just to look this small and naughty bike. Top speed is abaut 130kmh or 80 Mph (90 indicated) at 8200rpm. Average consomtion is 6L for 100km (???milles per galon). To0 mauch compared to CB400Four 5L/100km), but 2 stroke loves drink petrol and oil. So I can choose: 2 stroke, 2 cylinders, 200cc or 4 stroke, 4 cylinders and 400cc!  Here,some pictures.

Yes! Even the side stand was" Germany way" (as many BMW bikes). I have to put out a spring to avoid the stand goes up "alone". The rear mudguard is also longer than french CB400F.

must be a "dont forget to put it up" safty thing.

.the Eastern germen MZ bikes had a sidestand long back at the sving arm..abaut the rearhveel bolt .
.often i have seen those pipe smoking mz drivers run vith the sidestand Down...just vaiting to grab..the first time they turned to left.....today they are getting popular just becorse they are so ugly..and funny.(.im talking abaut the bikes ofcorse)

 I was watching an online clip from the Mecum auction and they were selling a certain model of BMW. In the written description and also announced by the auction assistant while describing the bike before selling was a WARNING about the spring loaded automatic kick stand.

Sadly, there was not warning message about "automatic up" side stand. It was really a annoyance every day.

like that rear mudguard is aktuly a nice one..the small cd 50 and dax had also that germen" helmet" look fenders..even my cbx 1000 -1978 had a speciel rear fender..specily for the germany marked..it had a sqvare red  reflex

Some people thinks it is an ugly mudguard... but on the raining days I love it!

There is a really nice RD125 (I didn't even realize they made a 125) that has been for sale on ebay for quite some time. Those small bore RD's are cool IMHO

The 200 & 125 Yam RD share the same frame. But their engine is really different: 52mmx46mm (200cc) and 43mmx43mm (125cc). The 200cc as and electric start and a Kick start, but the 125cc just have a kick: no mather, is very easy to start it. Top speed is not very different: about 130km/h (200cc) and about 120km/h (125cc), but the torque is 60%bigger: with the 200cc you ride around 6000/7000rpm every day and with the 125cc you are beyond 8000rpm every day. The 200cc is a good commuter and the 125 is a good city bike.
