NewMember from Indiana
« on: January 21, 2018, 07:00:36 PM »
Hi everyone!
Fairly new to the forum. I've looked over it once or twice but wasn't a member then. Lots of knowledge on this forum.
Seemed I've always ridden bikes (got my first one at 4 yrs old).
Dad bought a 73' cb750 brand new off the showroom floor in owensboro, ky  He put about 600 miles on it. One weekend he worked on a friends bike and took it for a spin and someone decided to not stop at a stop sign, totaled the bike and put him in the hospital for a bit.
Dad tried riding the 750 but the vibration bothered him after the wreck.
Hadn't been started rode much  since 83'. We moved and the bike came with us and it set in the back of the barn from 83 to 2014..
When dad decided to sell the farm  in 2014 I took ownership of the bike..he was going to send it for scrap.
I went through the bike stripped down to the frame  and started bringing it back to life almost 3 years and many of sought after parts and its back to where it should be.
Dad loves it when he sees it still can't beleive that we brought it back. Before pics to follow later.

That is an early 73, my favorite color too.
I bought mine like that in 76, I still have engine and frame but it's in pieces, rode it to Bonneville in 07.
Welcome aboard. .. I dont doubt your Dad smiles every time he sees the bike.,

Excellent story Shane. That bike is a sister of mine :) The story is a guy bought it and rode 5,000 miles and bought a Harley. He let it sit and I took ownership of it about 4 years ago. All the chrome and paint is original. Glad you can keep it in the family.

Btw Candy Bacchus Olive, or CBO as we call it, is the fastest color..
