are there helmuts with interchangeable visors(shaded/not)?
« on: January 21, 2018, 01:41:07 PM »
I want to avoid having extra lenses between my eyes and the road and if I have a clear visor on a bright day I'll need sunglasses underneath and a shaded visor would hurt nighttime visibility. Thanks

most helmets give you the choice between a tinted or clear visor but you'd have to carry both and change when you need to but there are quite a range of helmets now that have a tinted visor that slides up into the helmet as well as a clear that either sits on the normal outside place, there are some that also slide up into the helmet allowing you to choose which one you slide down over your eyes. most of these types are however open face

thanks for the info! I'll be looking out for all these variations

They also make "Transitions" visors as well, my wife has one on her helmet and she loves it however be forewarned they're not cheap.

Quite a few helmets have an integrated sun visor now that slides in and out of the front part of the helmet. Schuberth Concept used to be the first one, but has always been pricey. My wife has a Nolan that has it and I have a newer AGV that has one too.

My Shoei helmet has an internal flip down tinted visor. Best invention ever!

My wife has only had it for a couple of years now so I can't really give a legitimate long term report but so far so good.

thanks for all the replies.  I've got lots of researching to do. but from $40 to $300 surely I can stay around the cheapest without sacrificing any protection right?
