Mystery tank
« on: January 23, 2018, 10:54:16 PM »
My '72CB450 project's tank (left) was rusted out, so I found a replacement (right) on CL.  The 450-esque lines fooled me and I had it home before I realized it's massively wide.  Any guesses as to what this is?

Your original tank can probably be repaired. De-rust with any number of cheap, easy methods. Then, if there's hols you can have them brazed up, sheet metal replaced, or line the tank with POR-15 or Caswell. Maybe post some pictures of the rust damage for input?

The tank on the right sure looks like my tank which is off of a '72 CB750K.  Pictures of the front and back would help with the identification.  Also, which side is the pitcock on?

I would repair the original tank if it was my project.

Later, Bud...
