Looking to install a hydraulic clutch on my 1974 CB750K4 Resto-Mod, has anybody ever done it with any success? I know a new clutch cover will have to be made to mount the slave cylinder too and a new clutch rod. any info would be helpful.

vhy..think the total set up vill be heavyer and bulkyer then the orginal set up....those vho does it on a 500 to get that spindel mekanism gone have a point..but the 750 have no big improvent ..just komplikation of a vell funktion system

on the 750 you can have the piston press/pull direkt inn to the clutch..so no need for the clutch rod..make a piston housing im aluminium and veld or bolt to the housing

The big brakes guy did a few, should be able to get it into the 750 cast clutch cover. Needs some milling, tapping not sure if he had to weld.

You could probably have a workable hydraulic clutch using it.

That may be easier  my buddy had one on an XL 350. It worked, but I remember him saying he may change it, but I can't remember why.

yup, I rode an xr400 that had a similar set-up made by that Italian company that makes all the nice throttle housings, levers, and controls...worked very well and was small enough to possibly fit under the chrome cover of a cb750

there is no sence..in the half vay job..use vire pull to move the stock clutch rod..just as krazy as the BMW.. vire /to hyd marster under the tank.
..vhy make it all komplikated...and have the vorst from both systems..


a  hyd piston move direkt on the clutch..is the only logig vay..to make a better then stock ,and simpel system

That is definitely an option it just might work with the cable cover

i'm assuming that thing works on a pull action rather than that pushrod pushing away from the body of the slave cylinder ? if it does it should
 be a possibility. it looks like those adjuster/locknuts would go nicely into the clutch cable hole in the honda clutch cover casing. might have to get one and see. i also, just by chance, have a spare clutch master cylinder cluttering up the shed.

 Bleed it but loosening the banjo.
 My buddy changed it on the XL racers because of feel , on the start line it was digging in a bit and he felt it was too on/off.

The only reason I see to go hydro is if you're using really heavy springs and a very grabby clutch. The cable clutch works pretty damn good. Why fix what isn't broken?

Also to be had at your local bay of E are banjo bolts with a bleed nipple nestling within its bolty like end, plain steel, stainless or pretty anodised alloy

And as for why....why not, nothing stock will be hurt and it can all be put back where it was and as I already have the m/c it'll cost me about $10. What could possibly go wrong

That's why I asked.  I don't know much about the spec level of the engine and clutch on this build. Sometimes, the clutch pull on CBs is heavy for some riders.  I use a ball-bearing clutch lever to make the action smoother.

I had a hydro clutch on my RC51 -- smooth as silk.
