What is these 2 grommet openings for on my 76 CB750A?

Does anyone know what these two grommets are for (see picture). The parts list shows them as "air cleaner housing grommets" but they are not anywhere near the air cleaner. If anyone knows let me know. Just curious,

Cushion between the battery and the "ear" on the battery box.
