I'm not so sure if this belongs to this thread, but I'll try

As CB750K is my first yougtimer and is just 3 years younger than me, naturally I have no idea what helmets were used by 750 riders back in 70's.
I'm loooking something that would fit my stock K7

tried to google it after some hours of serching I found few full face helmets that coould be appropriate (DMD racer - pretty expensive, Bilwell Gringo S - does not fit..) but finally I found this one : https://www.retrobikegear.com/torc-t-1-retro-full-face-helmet-copper-pin/

Does anybody now this brand / model? Can you recommend? Any pros/cons?
Is this helmet similar than those used in 70's?

Alternatively I consider this Shoei : http://www.shoei-europe.com/upload/models/JO-mattbrown.jpg, but for the moment I prefer full-face for security & comfort

erny, i have a nolan N21 in white. super comfortable, the built in flip up visor is cool and it has a ratcheting chin strap that is quick release. like it uh lot.

edit: btw i have a flat black bell helmet if you're interested. retro style. just pay for shipping. it's a large i do believe.

Bell Bullitt style is close to what the mid 70's full face helmets looked like. https://www.revzilla.com/bell-bullitt-helmets The old full face helmets had a lot of air blowing around the face because cheek/chin padding didn't exist on a lot of helmets of that time.

What are y'all thoughts on "beanie" type helmets. I'm guessing they aren't the safest helmet, but they seem like they would feel less confining.

i have what i believe is considered a 3/4 helmet. not the full face. doesn't feel confining at all. not sure i'd feel safe in a 1/2 helmet.

Back to helmets...the 70’s saw lots of the metal flake,3/4 helmets with the snap on face shield. Blue, orange , red, were the most popular I remember. I had blue to match my 76 550 f....they are making retro ones now.....

i always thought the 3/4 was called full coverage. bell's were pretty cool, with the tiny visor that was squared in front, 3 snaps. luckily i don't throw anything away, ever, so having the access to one in good condition has totally reshaped whole daily riding experience, there was no padding inside except around the ears and the strap leather near the ears was nearly gone, so i cut some foam rubber so is wasn't so sloppy loose, but i don't know how many years now it's been since wearing it. thing about it most interesting isn't the fact that it has no rated safety features for any get-offs except for the visor if you're laying on side of the road and can't move but the sun might be in your eyes, if the visor stayed on, but it's like a hat, i don't take it off in the grocery store or hardware stores, or just hanging out with someone. so i don't have to carry a helmet or leave it on the bike. trip to anywhere ride up the front door on the sidewalk, park do what you gotta do in a few minutes and then go back. except at the emergency center entrance, they came lookin for me and said i couldn't park there on the sidewalk 10 ft from the door. i don't think there is any trade off for a "more safer, full faced helmet" of any kind starting with the home made football face protector to the most modern simpson. couple months ago a good checker friend of mine, raced his entire life, starting in the 60s on a triumph, he's close to 60, it was but a couple years ago he pulled a number 1 plate flat track expert 500 class, and has always rode a street bike. he lives in small desert town, he got hung up with a semi truck trailer wheel, in a tight corner, it drug him down the road a little bit. his leg was amputated, that sucks. i don't know if his lid played a role in him still being here.

I'm not familiar with the term "beanie", but if you mean a skid lid... No thanks. I'd be dead if I chose to wear a skid lid or other novelty helmet. We all take our risks, but it has always been full face for me. A 3/4 will actually provide good protection for your brain, but depending how it goes down you might end up missing your jaw or parts of your face. I'll just leave this photo of the distribution of head impacts in wrecks, we're all grown and can make our own choices, but at least have some data to base it on.

I don't remember anybody wearing a "Full Face" helmet in the 70's. We wore "Open Face" helmets, what folks on here are calling 3/4. Bell was the standard. I have a silver metal flack Open Face helmet in the garage (probably 40 years old and went through a lot of different motorcycles). It's not a Bell and all the identification markings are worn off. It served me well, but is now retired.

I’ve seen one of the flag colored helmets in the “let’s see your bike on the road” thread. Red bike on a pier if I remember correctly. Looked pretty cool.

Second that. I rode in the early 70s in Germany and I do not remember full face helmets on the street. I had a full face for racing, but with my street bike, I had a 3/4. We called them "Jet Helmets".
I just recently saw a great looking 3/4 at a local BMW dealer. It was a whole line of different colors and style variations. Forget what the name was, but the one I wanted was an almost dead ringer for the Candy Glory Red of my 79 CBX.

On the market, you can find a lot of helmets. The most important thing is to choose it wisely. Not always the cheapest or the most expensive one is the best option. You should analyze how safe it is for you and how comfy you will feel in it. I pay very significant attention to the helmet lock. It's imperative for me to feel safe while wearing it. You never know what can happen tomorrow. Get more info here about how it is good to choose the fitting helmet for you. I buy all my helmets using these devices, and I am delighted.

it's not fully period correct but doesn't look too modern either, and has better ventilation.
