Storing Mufflers to Avoid Rusting, any good ideas. I live in Nocal, damp in the winter, hot and dry in summer. Ive heard of wrapping but that may trap moisture. Maybe spraying with rust inhibitor and hanging in my garage. Its for my non rusted, slightly dented CB500 mufflers. Bike is stock, putting on headers.

they shouldn't really rust off the bike, its the condensation from starting and only running short distances that rusts out steel mufflers, i've seen ancient mufflers that have been hanging for years without getting any worse than they were when they came off the bike

you could thoroughly clean then wax or oil the outsides to prevent any surface rust getting a hold and maybe spray a #$%*load of inhibitor/penetrating oil down both ends to look after the insides

Ill probably be hanging them in a shed, so Ill be sure to oil them down as you suggested.
 Not to hack my own thread, but I saw re-pop CB500 mufflers on eBay, $1300.
