392 Cylinder Head ID
« on: February 08, 2018, 08:25:35 AM »
Anyone ever seen a 75/76 CB750F head that is marked X7?
I'm the second owner of the bike (over 20 years) and the original owner swears the head was never changed. Could he be mistaken?
Bike is a 76 CB750F, build date of Feb 76.

 Are those Kibblewhite retainers?

Yes they are! And 5mm valve stems???

Flip it over and show us the chambers. THAT will be the difference regardless of the numbers. Most -392 heads have 392 near that 7 and I've seen them in 2 different fonts/styles.

Also what do the ports look like? Also measure the size of the intake heads.

The K7/K8 also used the same head.

Don R,
Kibblewhite titanium retainers and springs. I had a leaky "puck" and its turned into a full performance engine re-build..

Jerry i know you like pictures so here they are.. No 5mm valves though.

Very nice. It's funny how those pucks lead to more rebuilding.

A nice domino effect can start to occur! ;)
If giving the engine stronger rods, strong brain whispering will start to give those rods something to work with increasing the displacement to the other side of the 1000 :)

Porting and -392 chambers. Nice head.

Now I want to know who did the head?

Interesting...
Made me look back to how mine was marked.
While clearly 392, mine has 5X after that. Yours is X7 with no 392.
Not sure what it means.

I just sent one out with "X 7" on it, next to the "392". It was for another F0 bike.
