Maybe MoMo will chime in, I think he was a Yami guy in a previous life. I could be wrong though.

All I know is the guy I bought my 750 from back around '74 told me to not be afraid to race anything out there, but if you don't want to be put to shame DON'T RACE AGINST AN RD350 STOPLIGHT TO STOPLIGHT! They were pretty fast back in the day.

I like rdlccrazy forums. It's a pommy site ran by Norbo the site vendor.
It concentrates on the liquid cooled bikes but has an air cooled section aswell.
There a welcoming bunch.

I've got one that I have fiddled with and have running but still have not got it dialed in yet to be a wheelie machine. Haven't looked for a forum for it but will be dragging it out to a friends place if I fail again in the spring. He knows them well. Steve'o has one also and should chime in sometime.

I don't have one now, but have had several. I never joined a forum for them and I guess I'm generally useless. Good bikes, but I liked my rd400 and rd60 better

Saw your pic on the other thread.  Has yours been repainted?  Looks more like red than the "Yamaha Rootbeer" color.

Not sure may have been painted at some point in time. Too cold to wash and check it.

Would be interesting to figure/ find out.

I had a predecessor back in the '80's, a YR2. It ran OK, but dad and I were never really able to dial the carbs in. We always thought it was a YR2C, but many years later I discovered the the C was the scrambler model.

I wish I had a picture of it, but here is a generic one from the web. My bike was painted seafoam green with cream accents (don't ask me why, that's just what dad decided to do)

I've always liked the shape of the gas tanks and overall style of those early Yammie smokers Danny. Bring back the rubber knee pads !   :D
