Bike looks great! What are your initial reactions to the Sumpthing?

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Rob, Are you using An-8 or An-10 on your oil lines?

Use the An-8, but have used the 10 top. Both work fine.

Due to time pressure not been able to fully concentrate on when or if it drops, but it is looking good. Gas cap on tail is is oil fill cap.

IMO popular enough and for us the only way to compete without having to go abroad. Mostly their own meetings, some are mixed.
Sokme are on the old road circuits but mostly on industrial zones.

Yes, though it’s not definitive, that’s great news for Bert Jan and the Sumpthing wet sump conversion.👍

Nice job getting her all together Rob.  It must feel good to have had a successful 3 hours of racing on a fresh build.

Can't see it dropping under acceleration, as the oil is being held against the pick-up; possibly under braking, but then the entire sump contents would have to migrate up into the engine, not good, but easily solved with a windage tray.   A simple oil warning light would answer the question.

Yes, no noticeable pressure drop. Investigating a little smoking under braking, which may indicate that oil migrate into engine with, maybe, some increase in crankcase pressure.

Good news on the pressure front, although didn't expect that to be an issue.  There was white/blue smoke, but not a lot Rob; it could be seen in a couple of pictures, looked like it happened on the over-run, as the bike was leaned over in a corner.  Have you done a leak down to eliminate anything mechanical?

His father, Henk, won the 34 hour of Le mans in the eighties and is still one of the main contenders in the classic endurance series.

the second race win was more impressive , this time all the front runners went with the same tyre that michael used yesterday and he still won .
i am suprised it has taken this long for a dutch rider to win a superbike race , it does look like it wont be long until the next one though .

Checking in on this. Rob, the extra parts are shipped tomorrow. Was at the BikeShed show in London with 2 bikes, didn't make it to post earlier. Awesome the SumpThing did what it was designed for. Although i did my best with the design, it was never intended for this kind  of use. Awesome it's holding up under these circumstances ;)

No worries BJ, hope you had a great BikeShed show! Yes it did what it is suppossed to do without any issue's. We had some but not related to the sump. We did fine and finished both of my bikes. We made sure that the bike was used to its full potential to see if any problems would occure but not even one tiny drop of oil could be found! Tried two setups of oilcooler installs. For our purpose a cooler is needed. For solely street use a tiny one or even without one should be possible.
