I have the opportunity to buy a very tidy GS750E. Apart from a couple of paint chips and a very small dent in the tank, this bike is close to original with 63xxxkms on the clock.
Are these considered a good bike?

Like Honda, most any Suzuki is a good bike. That generation was fast enough, smooth and handled reasonably well. Good luck with it if you choose to buy....Larry

You'll love it Andy, the only bike that was better in 1978 was the GS1000! (I'm negotiating the purchase of a GS1000 as I type this, but it's not even close to as shiny and original as yours..........)

The period motorcycle test/reviews back in the day gave the Suzuki high marks.That one looks like a real keeper.

The E model is the one to have, yours looks nice.

I had a chance to buy a GS1000 shaft model a couple years ago, I passed on it.
I don't like the torque lift the shaft bikes had back then.

That's a really clean bike. Hard to find in that condition. As long as the oil has been changed and the valves adjusted periodically..those engines are bulletproof. 60k is ok if it's been maintained. I have a 79 GS1000 and absolutely love it. Great torque, good handling bike..and I'm a die-hard Honda guy.

Jump on the GSResources forum Andy, it is to Suzuki GS series bikes what this site is to SOHC4's. I haven't been on it for years, but like the guys here, there's a wealth of knowledge there, just waiting to be tapped into!

Picking up the bike tomorrow afternoon (Sunday Perth time!

) then a 40+ km ride back home on the mobile carpark otherwise known as the Kwinana Freeway, then onto the Mitchell F/W.

Unfortunately Perth didn't learn from the mistakes of much bigger cities e.g. Los Angeles, so all our major freeways get clogged most times of most days...........argh!!

The good thing is that it only takes 15-20mins to escape the urban madness, then we have some great roads to give our classic bikes their heads!!
