general jackassery
« on: February 11, 2018, 05:25:26 PM »
so tonight i thought i'd change my oil and filter.  wanted to try out some rotella t4 for the first time.  drained the oil at the pan.  swapped out the filter and put my new 17mm bolt on.  i kept thinking why is the oil level so high?  i only put 3 quarts in.  I FUKIN FORGOT TO DRAIN THE OIL TANK!  so now i've got old dirty synth 20-50 and new rotella 15-40 in there.  i drained the tank a little to get the oil level in the right place but i'll probably just go grab another gallon of t4.  GAWD!

EVERYONE has been there :) You figured it, no harm, no foul.

P.S. - this should be a general thread where ppl post their f***ups.

I just replaced the forks on a Nighthawk and forgot to route the throttle cables correctly - just slapped the fork ears in and went at it. I, of course, have far too may f***ups to post here. That would be an entirely different forum.

I'm thinking with the 15-20-40-50 synth/rot blend you might be on to something. Good to go for hot and cold weather.

BTW, BTDT myself.
