Wiring Issue
« on: February 11, 2018, 11:35:44 PM »
I purchased a new top triple clamp from Cognito Moto which has the oil, neutral, high beam and turn signal indicators. I can’t figure out which one is my neutral switch wire. Can you all help. I attached a picture. I keep reading and seeing diagrams saying it’s light green and red. Can you circle or pin point which one it is?
Also, it’s a mess in this headlight. What do you guys recommend as far as installing wire. Just stick to the crimp male and female terminals?

When I click on the picture, it rotates to an orientation with your thumb on the left. In that orientation, its the 3rd wire from the left, Green with a Red stripe, sitting directly under your thumb. Left-most is Brown/Red in the picture.

Awesome. I was just confused because my diagram says light green and red, and that looks dark to me. Thank you very much. There are no more spots for that particular terminal left in my head light. Any suggestions ?

So my new set up comes with a green wire and a black wire for neutral. I should plug the green wire into the red green neutral line, then the black wire with a spare black from the harness?

Reached out to the manufacturer. The lines go as the typical stock lines do, but with a difference. This is what he said:

The oil and neutral are the only ones that are reversed. Meaning that the colored wire is wired to an auxiliary positive and the black wire goes to the switches that are ground.

Translation?!!

They mean the instrument light for NEU (GREEN) goes to your stock BLACK (powered) and the instrument BLACK (GROUND) goes to your stock GREEN/RED.

The same reversal is true for OIL. Your stock harness BLUE/RED usually connects as a GROUND, but in this instrument it needs to connect to the BLACK and the BLUE (if that's what comes from the instrument) connects to your harness BLACK.

Shoot a picture of the wiring coming from your instrument lights for clarification.
