Topic: are the cb550k intake boots the same as the cb650sc anyone know?

I'm finding them a lot cheaper and look very similar.

This is what a 550k boot looks like on an ‘82 650 head. The right boot is 550 and the left boot is 650.


You can force it on with heat and lube but I would bet it’s almost impossible to get the carbs on all 4 at the same time. Also, the 650 boots have an offset in them and the 550 boots do not so it wouldn’t even line up.

 No. They are not the same. And the 650 boots are directional. One side faces the head, one faces the carbs. You can get them on backwards.

and I did trying to lengthen their life by putting the worn side on the other side and got leaks. They might still be good to put back around. I noticed the arrow but didn't see a difference. thanks
