Here’s my next thing to fix on this bike. I think the directional signals are possessed. I have made wiring repairs so that all lights are functioning. All lamps are LED of the correct type, and the flasher has been replaced with an electronic unit suitable for LED. Directional signals did not work on this bike when I got them, due to broken wires, burnt out bulbs and a bad flasher
What I’ve got now is really odd. Flip the directional signal to the left and the rear light comes on, front flash element comes on, front running light goes off. It does not flash. Flip the switch to the right all the way, the buzzer squeals once, and the lights do the same thing as they do on the left, and they do not flash. If you very gently slide the switch slightly back from it’s locked position, the right light will flash and function normally. This trick does not work on the left side.
Considering the wiring harness is stock, clean, and lights are functioning, I don’t think this is a wiring issue. I’m going to unplug the buzzer just make sure it’s not interfering in some way. Short of finding a new switch housing just to test, do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks, Fred.
