Young Newb
« on: February 11, 2018, 08:40:05 PM »
Hey all, my name is Chris, I’m 17 years old and I’m just starting into the motorcycling world. I just finished the safety course and I live in Souther California so I don’t doubt I’ll end up using what I learned in all of this traffic. I’m new to forums too so I’m not 100% sure how all this works. I have a CB350F that I’m hoping to fix up and start riding, it currently doesn’t run and I’m not sure where to start. I’m sure most of you have a lot more experience under your belts so any tips on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome youngster,  you have found a great place for information, just be prepared to follow instructions when you ask for help but don't be afraid to ask.

Where in So Cal. are you at? I'm in Corona. And I am 17 also.................yea like almost 4 times! Haha

Welcome Chris from WI. Once you get like 5 posts you can post up some pics for us. If you haven't noticed already we like pics here. For starters you should get yourself a Honda service manual. The reason I say Honda service manual is some of the others like Clymer are not as detailed as the Honda manual. There are some service manuals on this site, but not sure if the 350F is on there. Check it out. Give us some specifics on that 350F like the year, mileage, when it ran last, missing parts, can you kick the motor over or is it froze, etc. Lots of the parts the guys here will have and they will be cheaper and in better condition than what you find on eBay. Once you are ready to start the project start a thread in the "project" section of this forum so we can follow your progress. Welcome to the forum!

Let's make it easier for you:

Manuals and documentation is here: http://manuals.sohc4.net/cb350/
Online full parts list for you bike, including diagrams and part numbers is here:
https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb350f-four-1972-usa_model435/partslist/

You don't need to order from there, but its comprehensive online source.

In the online manual, there's a section referred to as the 3,000 Mile Service interval. Its a great place to start familiarizing yourself with your bike, perform the routine maintenance, and help get your bike tuned and running. Start a new thread in "Projects" section with your progress and questions, and you'll get all the help you need!

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Welcome Chris.

All you have to do is ask away. Us old guys aren't so bad. It's refreshing having a young kid ASK us something vs telling us LOL.  :)
