Hi All!
I've just made the jump from a ’71 CB350 to a ’75 CB550F that I recently bought. While I do miss the sound of my twin, I love the power increase and the feel my 550 has, plus those 4 into 1 pipes! Don't notice the weight difference in overall handling, still feels quick and nimble.
Plan is to commute to work (12 mile RT) half on highway which is why I was looking for a bigger bike. At the very least get her on the road daily. The bike has been really well maintained with some upgrades. I'm excited to learn more of it's unique quirks like the stiffer clutch compared to the CB350 and working with four carbs instead of two.
The PO removed the turn signals so I'll be adding those back on once I figure out the electrical. Right now only free wires are black (four pairs taped up) so I'll be looking into. Then I'll look into the squeaking front brake, which just started yesterday.
I appreciate all your shared knowledge and insights. I'm really looking forward to being part of the community.
Cheers,
Peter
