CB450 Paintless Dent Repair....Georgia
« on: February 23, 2018, 12:25:41 PM »
In my search to find a place for PDR on a tank of mine, I found Stephen Hamby out of Georgia.

After watching this, I'm seriously considering using him to fix my tank.

I thought I'd post in case anyone else is looking or for future reference.

That was nuts. My CL tank has some dents but thay have more pronounced crowning at the edges. Not sure they would come out this smooth. Looks like he just used heat and a tire iron to get them out tho. Pretty cool.

Looks amazing but I am always skeptical.

James, be our guinea pig!  I have a couple Kawasaki tanks I'd like repaired if the guy is that good.

I bought a kit from Germany years ago, that works excellent. Have used it on several tank dents.
It comes with a glue that is used to fix a stick in the center of the dent and after it sets, you pull it with a small device. When you are done, the stick and glue come off by heating with a hair dryer.

Dont be skeptical. PDR guys get paid really well because they can fix dents without upsetting factory paint. Some are hacks and want to drill holes in doors and plug them to get to the skin, but good ones are worth the price, which is usually substantially less than paint. Ask around after a hale storm, and you will find the PDR guy that does it right. My wife's uncle gets paid mega bucks to travel the US following storms to repair cars.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

Have a friend that travels the Midwest during tornado season doing PDR. Makes a bloody fortune. It's pretty neat to watch him work.

Yes I know this thread is a few years old....

So James did you end up sending a tank to him? Or anyone else?
