trick to get key out of ignition switch? i’m really not as stupid as this sounds.  got this 73 that had been sitting a couple yrs, key doesnt seem to come out. its AZ so theres really no rust or corrosion visible.
is there a commonissue or trick?.

A friend had an old Ford Bronco like that. He sprayed it a bunch of times with something like PB Blaster then grabbed the key with vise grips................then wiggle/pull/rest/spray/repeat, repeat, repeat. It should brake loose, just don't get all ham-fisted with it.

Oh yea I forgot.....Bawhahaha! Just kidding!

On my OE ignition switch, the outermost pin in the lock mechanism wore out: the lock pin  was sideways in the key groove. I got a jewelers screwdriver and guided it back into place and it still worked ok. But I worried that it would act up out on the road, and I'd either lose my keys or be unable to switch it on or off. I got a new switch and removed all unnecessary keys from my key ring.
