CB750 stock seat pan modification
« on: February 24, 2018, 01:38:18 PM »
I'm wanting to modify my stock seat to be less bulky. I currently just have the seat pan and want to retain the hinge and lock. If anyone has pictures or advice on how they trimmed down the pan to conform to the frame better I'd appreciate you posting them. Thanks!

There are plenty of aftermarket seats out there that you could purchase reasonably, and save the stock pan for later. You can pull the hinges and lock, and install them on the new seat.

I did my CB750 K6 seat back in the first half of the 80's. Seat was scratched after a meeting or 2 with the road, lots of guys here modified their seats.
CB750 is too square shaped. Different with stock restore.
I left the seat to a car and boat seat company doing seats cars, cabriolets etc. They cut the foam down in a wave shape I told them for driver and passenger. Plus rounded the shape.
My first seat was white. Next time I brought the cover with my only, telling them to do a similar but black. I mounted it by myself.

Below some photos of same bike, different years.Same as my avatar. We are married ::)
Yamiya has nice seats. What about their K1 seat that has a low cut?
