Kickstand Removed by PO- now what?

The PO a couple decades ago installed a 4-into-2 slash-cut exhaust.  Apparently they had to remove the side stand to accommodate the exhaust, including the lug.

My wife is going to ride this bike, so I want a side stand and not just the center stand.  What are my options?

The side stand on the '71 mounts beneath the headers, not in front of the foot pegs as on later models.  Is there any reason I can't weld a new lug to the frame in the same position as the later models, by the foot pegs?    I don't even know if a stand would clear the exhaust in that position either.

I'm not sure if I'll keep these slash-cut pipes or not.  I would be tempted to keep them and modify the muffler end if it weren't for the fact that they screw up the kickstand placement.

I'm not sure starting this thread was necessary.  Apologies.

DCC has this, although the Description is slightly offensive:  https://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-chassis-frame-weld-on-parts-tc-bros-universal-diy-kick-stand-black-104-0019.html

"Get rid of that ugly stock kickstand"?!?!  Well, I never!
