Sorry to have to post this, since I know it's been covered before. In fact, I see what is probably the info I need on the SOHC/4 site, but I don't own calipers, so when someone describes one o-ring as "1.3mm cross section" and another as "1.5mm cross section" it's not helping me. The o-rings I'm pulling off my jets, bowl drain screws, float valve seat are too worn to recognize really.
My bike came with 4 Top Cover Gaskets and 4 O-ring Seal Kits, shown in the photo.
I assume the 2 largest O-rings are for the T at each of the two 5mm fuel lines that run down from the petcock. There are 8 total in the kit.
Then there are two fatter o-rings. They go where?
Then one that is slightly narrower than the two above, but with slightly larger ID. Goes?
Then one itty-bitty o-ring. Goes?
And while we're at it, two more questions related to this carb cleaning:
1. Does the Top Cover Gasket require any liquid gasket? There was clear silicone used on the float bowl "o-ring" and the top cover gaskets when I pulled these carbs apart.
2. Carb #1 was beautiful... the other 3 were not pretty. (See photo in my Project thread.) It was clear that on at least one of the carbs, someone had desperately tried to correct for the awful state of the carb by driving the air screw all the way in. What is the stock recommended air screw setting to start with? One full turn out? EDIT: Found the info. 1 Turn +/- 1/8 turn
