Anyone remember George Orwell's 1984?  ...where the Government WAS the underground resistance movement? Not too far off of what I just watched. That whole webpage was very well thought out to produce mental images as you read and scrolled down it.
Not one word is ever mentioned about the real solution to these problems. And that is the Creator Himself. God is the Only Solution to the temporary problems we all face... and technology is only a temporary problem. Thanks for sharing, Ichi.

Certainly do remember 1984.... especially “doublespeak”....a least a few parallels today. I see 2 year olds with their faces buried in their “ handhelds” I see whole families at tables, each with their faces and fingers immersed in their phones...
And, yep, the fact that a creator has been relegated to a “ has been”  explains a lot of the problems today....
...sad...

Something interesting I saw in one of their videos..was that nowadays there are more than 2 billion users of social media (Facebook..et al.)..which is more than the number of people following all of the major religions in world combined.  With that kind of global influence..what kind of effect is that having on people's minds.  And who is it that controls that message?

I'm not one to subscribe (heavily) to conspiracy theories..but just makes one wonder what's been unleashed with all of the IT technology..especially social media (?)

Absolutely... We are in a War. It is the enemy who has done and orchestrated this through many separate entities who might not even be aware that they are a part of it... The enemy is out to kill, steal and destroy anything and anyone he can. Witness the Broward Co. shooting... now, in a war, would you send your troops out without having them armed? Would you disarm them so they couldn't fight the war? Would you disarm your police so that they could not protect and serve their communities? Would you disarm private citizens who belong to the National Guard... or as homeowners... so they couldn't protect their homes...
Well, when we get down to it, we have abdicated personal responsibility for any type of responsibility for our own safety, and want 'Big Brother' to take care of these problems. I believe this started 2 generations ago, which is MY generation. We failed to educate our children and trusted the school systems to do it for us. Now, We the People have to take back that responsibility. They talk about gun control... that's abdication of responsibility. Our children are not being told the truth. THEY are responsible for their families, not government. It is a shame, as we taught our kids how to safely own a firearm. How many know that today? Not many, and they learn from Hollywood's movies and drama's on TV that glamorize and desensitize kids to violence, let alone video games today. They are HORRIBLE!!! Anyway, that really pisses me off... oops, wrong thread...

Personally I think there's a healthy grain of truth in the message put forth by that page/site.

I was reading something about Nietzsche and what he meant by the "Death of God".  While I don't know how true this interpretation is - I'm not particularly familiar with Nietzsche, I understood the quote to mean that without family, religion, and traditions civilization will tend to devolve into a selfish system of mediocrity.  I tend to think that seems to be true.

I’d really like to get into this but don’t know if politics and religion can be kept out..and this is just my opinion from experiences in life...
Mid 60’s began the removal of parental authority and the beginning of the“ me “ generation . There has always been a pushback against this by common sense parents and groups but this negative influence has slowly filtered it’s way into our government , schools, and judicial system. Couple this with the emergence of a non deity belief  , a disregard of the basic values that built this country,  the spreading of a” bad America ideology “and , well, here we are..... a certain book kinda predicted this.....
I’m not a conspiracy theorist however.......

Our children are being hijacked. They no longer have innate intelligence. If they do it is being minimalized by "modern day" parenting. They are being feed AI. Homes are now being told they need a little "toy" to ask questions of not realizing it is a spy tool imbedded by themselves thinking they are cool. The middle class is being dissolved while their assets are flowing to the ultra-rich. I wouldn't want to see the populace in 100 years after having grown up in the 50's and 60's 1900 style. If we are being turned into robots it is just to use as a template of the real things that are slowing pervading our society. #$%* it, I'm gonna die sooner than later so maybe I can do a Mars mission for Elon! Just give me a big bag of weed (brick size) and shoot my ass into space. If Elon is the true sport he shows he'll also send a hot hooker along to kill me off before I die of hunger or thirst or oxygen deprivation.  ;D ;)

I'm bad about being buried in my phone. Work stuff mostly, but bad nonetheless.

I have a group of friends, that we meet up once a week. About 20 of us. Go to a local bar for Whiskey Wednesday. All phones and smart watches go in a pile in the middle of the table. Anyone touches their phone, they buy a shot for everyone at the table.

It's a refreshing break from technology for 3-4 hours a week, where we just talk, joke around, see what everyone is up to, etc. It's nice.

Hi Folks..

Have noticed recently that this issue of unsolicited pop-ups and manipulative algorithms..particularly by Facebook (Google also)..is gaining a lot more attention in mainstream media.  Seems like Mark Zuckerberg..et al..are starting to freak at all of the unwanted scrutiny.

I'm not particularly for imposing a lot of restrictions on Internet traffic/content..but being an old-fart from the pre-Internet days of communications..have felt that some sort of greater discipline may be perhaps needed here..but am not clear at all about what that should be (?)

Wondering what further ideas/impressions you-all may have here?

im on light duties at the moment in the office at the rubbish removal company I now work for, they removed our real life paper street directories in the office and we are told to use google,so just the other other day a guy on the two way cant find an address on a busy 2 x two lane road in an industrial area,i google it up for him,its way wrong we find out after sending him on a goose chase, opposite side of the road and nearly 500 meters away, not far you might think but in a 6x4 heavy truck you cant just dart around throwing U turns, that wasted 30mins!if I had the paper map book he would be on the same page no pun intended, google maps don't have grid references, the trucks have street directories in them, maybe I should follow the offices lead and remove all the street directories?also in my light duties ive been riding shotgun with new guys, they all use their phones to get around and CANT read the directory/refuse to or are just plain dumbarses no #$%*,one guy said "but to use the street directory you have to know where you are first"!i said look at the next street name sign he said "but then you you got to look that up and flip pages over"#$%*ing help me someone!!!

de-evolution.
