Harley hub laced to a stock Honda rim?
« on: February 27, 2018, 07:01:15 PM »
Hey everyone,

Im doing a GSXR swap, I am going the route of a Harley hub off of a Dyna 08 and up with 25mm bearings, the 25mm bearing sleeve is in the mail.

Ive found threads detailing lacing a Harley rim to a Honda hub but I want to do the opposite. What kind of spokes would I need to lace to a stock 19" Honda rim? Or do I need to bite the bullet and just obtain Harley spokes and rim?

Thanks.

What size rim do you want ?
H-D 19,s were usually a drop centre rim., so you may need longer spokes.

I want to use a 17" rim  since a stock gsxr is the same and I have a 16" hog on the back, adding some size on the rear.

I just looked at the Storz pricelist.   Everything high  really high.
I realize you probably prefer  5 bolt.
If you can live with 4 , the dirttrack wheels may be a lot cheaper, I think you can get a whole wheel laced for 6 to 700.
Slik just bought a set, I will be running used ones, do you have a machinist buddy?

I sourced the hub for 50 bucks from a local Harley shop, I just never took a picture of it and its at the shop.

The Storz or a stocker ? Sounds right for  stock.

To calculate spoke lengths you'll need several specific measurements from the hub and the rim you want to use. Here's a link that'll help:
