I'm trying to piece something together Mark. Started with the bare chassis with no front end or wheels. Now I at least have a rolling chassis with a front fairing and body. I'm going to keep collecting parts until I can make a complete dragbike out of this thing. I'll get it done one day. I can't afford to buy one that race ready so I've got to build my own on a poor man's budget😁.

Trying to work out the correct ride height on this project so I can lower the forks. Will drop a dummy engine in it this week and hang a header off of it to see exactly how my ground clearance turn out. Need a minimum of 2" to be legal.

Decided to go fuel injection on this build. I won this Max Ecu controller in a raffle. I'm going to combine new and old technology on this project.

Jerry,

I hope to get this ready for the 2020 season. The plan is to make the Man Cup opener next April. Lots of work to do still. Plus we're in the middle of the 2019 race season so my budget isn't geared towards a new bike build right now. I'll continue to buy small pieces here and there in the interim to keep the progress going.

Damn Frank! Nice  :)

Decided it was time to pull an engine out of the corner that's been apart for about 10 years. I'm going to clean it up, have the head redone and freshen up the bottom end. I acquired a 5 speed auto recently and MTC is redoing a slider clutch basket for me to put in the engine.  I'll slowly get this monster back together with a deadline of August 2020.  The plan is to have it on the bike, and tested so I can compete in the 4.60 index class at XDA for the last race of the season.

Stock stroke GS 1100 crank with straight cut 1100 ratio gear. It was a hand clutch set up originally but I'm going to install a slider clutch when it goes back up.

I'd love to watch this unfold.  We put a Holley Terminator EFI (looks like a carb) on our dragster in 2018 for the last four races. We moved from fourth to second in points and made it to the final in our last race before an engine builder oversight caused valve train failure.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
If you love it, set it free, if it stays it's probably one of my 750's.

Wow, I haven't posted on this thread in 2 years. Unfortunately I had a major set back with the chassis I had set up as a roller. It had internal degradation issues from moisture.  I can only surmise the previous owner used compressed air for the air shifter system which introduced corrosive moisture into the frame rails that also act as the air tank reservoir.  The corrosion was so extensive, the chassis shop recommended that I trash this frame. I was lucky enough to have another bare chassis on hand for a future project. The problem was it was set up for a KZ engine. I took the chassis to the shop in Florida for engine mount conversion and to swap the wheels over. It turned out the one piece fiberglass body from my original chassis wasn't wide enough and it was to short for the new frame. I had to buy a brand new body from Beasley fiberglass so I went with the Hayabusa style this time. We also determined that the rear of the chassis was wider so i ended up buying a new beadlock wheel to better fit within the rails. Needless to say,  these were unforeseen costs and the lead times for fabrication anddeliver pushed the project time-line back further and further. I had hoped to get this bike done over the winter months so I could race it all this season. Obviously it didn't work out as planned. The chassis still hasn't been turned into a roller yet so it's doubtful it'll get down the track until the very end of 2022. All good though because I pretty much have suspended my regular race program for this year anyway. I  don't have any pictures to post right now. Hopefully something positive will happen in the next 30 days and I'll share pictures  with you. Normally I would be highly ticked off but I'm just going to roll with the punches on this one. The money has been spent now so it's an afterthought at this juncture. Eventually it'll come together.

Oh man, I can't believe all this time has passed since my last post. Well grants, the project isn't dead but took a different turn. My original chassis was compromised so I had to use a spare chassis for the project. This frame was originally set up for a Kawasaki engine so I had the fabricator convert it to a GS engine platform. Due to the wider rear section of the bike, I had to buy a wider rear wheel and decided to get it beadlocked so the tire wouldn't slip on the rim at launch. The original fiberglass body I had on the other chassis was to narrow and not long enough so I had to have Beasley fiberglass build another body to fit this chassis. A good deal of work has been completed thus far but there's more to be done before it's ready for pickup. Right now we're looking at two more weeks and then I'll drive down to Florida to pick up the rolling chassis. I'll have a lot of Details to work out once I get it in my shop so I'm thinking it'll be the 1st quarter of 2023 before I get it finished and ready to make pass down the dragstrip. Fuel injection is still my preference for this bike so I've got to purchase all the needed components to complete the system. Ahhh, the joys of building a bike!!

Frank, sorry to hear about the tribulation and trials the frame put you through that snowballed like Murphy will oft do...
Glad you have things progressing even if they aren't at a pace you would prefer. You never know what this delay has saved you from... At least you found out about the corrosion in time to change directions before you were near the end of the project and it wasn't found on the track.
Following along to enjoy your exploits from afar...
