1977 CB750A Aluminum Rims Swap to CB750K8

I have the opportunity to obtain some very nice 1977 CB750A aluminum rims for use on a CB750K8 Cafe project. Are there any direct swap issues? Are there any issues with the 17" vs 18" rear tire for handling? Thanks Barry

Your K8 should have come with a 17" rear originally if I recall correctly.

At any rate, there should be no fitment or handling issues.

They bolt right up, I have a set on mine.

750 A front on my K7. No issues whatsoever. Now I have matching wheels. I'm thinking of going to somewhat heavier fork oil to compensate for the much lighter new wheel. ATF in the forks now./

What would be the benefit, if any, to putting these wheels on my K4? I like the aluminum look. I'm not sure if there may be a performance difference though.

pretty nice weight savings gets you better acceleration, handling, and braking.  Plus those rims are just way better quality so your wheels should be rounder.  That is something you can really feel.  The chromed steel wheels found on most 70's jap bikes were really just built to a cost.
If it works good, it looks good...

I did 10wt and was MUCH happier with the ride.

Thanks, sounds like a plan. 10 weight it will be. Another thing I learned with this new wheel: To make sure the tire is seated properly, I reduced the pressure and rode the bike for a mile. I then pumped it to the correct PSI and rode the bike again. Before I did this, I had an up and down vibration in the wheel. Someone suggested the above to let the tire seat itself better. It worked.
