Thanks guys, yep, if I can get rid of 3/4 of my bike collection and get some space back in my garage I’d love to get a hoist so I could work comfortably on my cars.

Bill, the engine needs to come out and the heads need to be skimmed, as one of the head gaskets is blown and it overheats pretty quickly. Otherwise it’s a magnificent car, around 300 BHP @ 14psi boost, and blasts past V8’s like they’re going backwards. I have a Subaru specialist ready to do the work, I just need to get it towed to his workshop.

Once the “new” ute is road legal I want to install a turbo on it too, I’ve got an EBay turbo in a box ready to go, plus an intercooler, BOV etc, and my new mate, Tony, the exhaust guy says he can bend up the pipes for me. I know EBay turbo’s aren’t great, but if it works well I’ll buy a good one when the EBay one dies. Should be fun. ;D

Getting them sorted nice  :)

Replaced the Rear Lid Gas Struts on my 87 Fezza 328..

OK....we need more pics of your "FEZZA"!!!!!

Haha!  Sure.. best to head over to https://davewinfield.au/cars/ferraris/ferrari-328gts/

Gorgeous 328 Dave, especially like the pics with the "bikini girls"!!

Surprised you dont have a tab on your website for your CB & Z900?

Mission Accomplished - just need to get the bikes out for more pictures!

Hey Dave...you might want to check it, when I click on the Z900 tab, I see the Honda pics.

BTW - your 348 was gorgeous! Love the side strakes, reminds of another Prancing Horse, the Testarosa [Red Head]. Why'd you sell it?

I think it may have been a caching problem, hopefully fixed now!

Yes, the 348 was nice..  At the time I had no room, and it was coming up for a major service so I advertised it and it went..

Hi Dave...yes, I see the pics of the Z900 now, that bike is clean!

I wonder how many guys buy a vintage Ferrari w/o realizing that timing belt replacement requires the engine out service?!!

My 40 chevy has an oil leak at the joint of the timing cover and oil pan. I remembered an article in Hot Rod where they located a leak with soap bubbles and repaired it with heavy silicone and a vacuum source. I put a little air pressure on it and did the soap spray, found the leak.
I used some tubing, a small shop vac and my vacuum pump's gauge to adjust a vacuum leak to get about 3" of vacuum on the crankcase. Next, I sprayed brake clean to get the oil out of the gap and wiped down the area to remove oil and dirt.
Then I put black silicone on my fingers and fed it into the gap, at first it seemed to suck in, but then it built up and I was able to make a smooth bead.
If it keeps me from pulling the front clip, timing cover and oil pan, it's a big win. If it doesn't work I'm out some dirty hands and a half tube of black ultra-seal.

I washed the engine and the bottom of the car and drove the snot out of it coming home, did the 5-mile loop and parked it out in the concrete drive. So far, I don't see any oil leaking.  It's too early to claim victory but I'm optimistic.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Yes, the Zed is a ground-up resto, really a new bike.. it arrived with 1km on the clock :)

And on the Fezzas, indeed..  not all models are engine out, including the 328 thankfully..  But a trap for young players, for sure.   Having said that, I've never heard of a timing belt snapping in road use.  Weirdly, the belts themselves are SUPER cheap, just a few tens of dollars!

Yesterday we started putting the bodywork back on the 01' Honda TRX 350 Rancher. We started at the front and it only took 2 tries to get it installed. You have to install the panels in the correct order to get them all connected.
We still have to install the grill guard and front cargo rack before we move to the back end.

Today I managed to install the front grill guard, rock guard and cargo rack. It took some doing to get them bolted together since they were twisted up when I got it. I spent some time un-twisting, welding and spraying them with rattle can bed liner before installation.

Today we basically finished up the ATV, we even got the seat recovered. The new battery is charging up now and I need to punch holes in the end of the new grips so I can put the bar ends on.

I ordered the rear full quarter panels for my 69 Firebird. I got AMD ones, some folks like them. Most of my other parts are Dynacorn so we'll see how they mix. I'm told most of the parts are made by the same manufacturer in Taiwan so maybe they all come out of the same dies.
I got 5% off at Summit Racing for having the pro-shop account. Still around $900 with shipping.

When I bought the rear bumper skin for the Volvo C30 I picked up a nice clean grill (mine was cracked and missing a bit when I got the car). My Volvo badge was nicer so swapped them out and ended up with a fresh new look. Took the car for a geodesic long run this evening and confirmed the new tires are perfectly balanced. Sweet!

Not mine but helped my business partner pick up his '67 Bronco.  It's been at the paint shop for at least a year and got a full cosmetic restoration, interior and exterior [all mechanicals were good when he bought it].
Has a big V8 and auto trans, drives surprising well with the 37" tires/wheels, think I'll drive it to the big Bluebonnet Car Show this weekend since he is headed down to Mexico!

I got the trailer out of storage and started moving the tools back into it. I'll work on the dragster in the trailer, so I know I have all of the tools and material back in it.
The picture has an odd perspective, the wheels are actually straight.

My next plan for the dragster is to remove the efi and block off the carburetor flange so I can pressure test the top end. I'll close all of the valves and add a couple psi to check the intake gaskets on the newer cylinder heads. It has been having all of the same symptoms as when it had sucked the intake gaskets once before with the old heads.
I switched to metal core gaskets with good results but my engine guy did this assembly. Frankly I don't trust the new CFE cylinder heads to be machined properly, the intake bolt holes had to be elongated on a motor with stock deck height, standard intake manifold and supposedly standard height and angle heads.

Worked on the mower...

+1...but technically didn't work on it, just poured ethanol-free fuel in the tank and it started first pull!  Prolly havent used it in 6 months, I was amazed.  Briggs & Stratton...

Was so happy with it after mowing, I gave it a nice cleaning.
