I greased the enclosed trailers wheel bearings and adjusted the brakes on one side. I'll go back out when the shade moves a little more and do the other side.  My Dad's old bottle jack still picks one side of the trailer up easily. It's at least 60 years old and was rebuilt once, probably 35 years ago.
When we had the blowout, I left the center cap off to encourage myself to remove the new spare and inspect the brakes. That worked out OK. The rubber plugs for the grease zerks and adjusters need replacement.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

I had a dead electro mechanical 3 prong flasher sitting around,I could see through the clear case one capacitor was bulged,I felt like tinkering so opened it up,for $2.50c I bought two new caps from a local supply place and soldered them on and its fixed!yeah sure I could buy a new one, these are 30 bucks fixed for less than a beer price.

Mosport was as HOT as I can remember in the past +56 seasons! I borrowed a cool shirt and that was the only saviour. I will order my own this week!

Two by eight hour races strained every team to the limit. The LEXUS never missed a stroke and the Westlake tires took a beating. I took the LF right to the cords on Saturday afternoon (last two hours) but with some judicious rotation, eight tires made it through the weekend. Despite the heat, the Team worked well together and we were rewarded with a class win, both days. In the past eight races we have scored 7 wins and a 2nd place. Our luck will change one day, but right now, easily leading the Championship.

Thanks Steve! The car has been a real performer and we have a good Team. The other guys are 10-20 years younger than me, but I still managed to turn the fastest lap on both day. We’re not always the fastest car, but we don’t make mistakes and are always there at the end. I love it!

The Toro “Timecutter” manual suggests all the service intervals on “run time”, so I picked up a cheap hour meter on Amazon. Pulled it apart today and found the cutout under the control panel was already there! Even the correct size. Better lucky than smart! Done an hour.

My wife spent a few hours on it while I was racing on the weekend. Apparently I need to order the optional arm rests!

Interesting shot….. You suddenly realize how fast you are moving when the car in front of you (look closely) makes a small mistake and starts barrel rolling down the road! Corner 8 off the end of the back straight at Mosport. Over 110 mph. Screenshot from the incar video mounted to the LEXUS.

Very interesting stuff John.  7 of 8 wins and a second, impressive.

So, in your shot of the barrel roller, do you brake in case he is about to cross in front of you, or do you speed up to get by before he comes across?

He went off the end of the back straight and instead of going “straight on” and getting it stopped, he turned hard right and tried to rejoin the track (corner eight is a 100 mph, long sweeping right hander). It started rolling before he crossed the track and kept heading off to the right, at a high rate. Didn’t have to do anything but remind my self that “in order to finish first, you have to first finish”.

The good results are the combined efforts of a good bunch of guys.

Our Toro “Timecutter” ZTMower has a very firm set of springs under the seat. They don’t do much for my 125lbs. wife and I bounce a lot on them (187 lbs). There is lots of space and I’m thinking of making some brackets and installing a set of aftermarket cb400F shock/spring units. Anyone ever done something like this?

Was a sad day in Texas, my beloved Nissan 370Z is gone....

No, not in the flood but traded for a [GASP!] SUV!    Bought the car 8 years ago for my wife, she always wanted a Z car, and it has been absolutely perfect only requiring routine maint.  Was a blast to drive, 3.7L V-6, 333hp with paddle shifters.

She's been hounding me for some time for something "practical?!" and good for road trips.  I stalled her as long as I could but we recently sold an investment property so was a good time to spend some money.

Stuck with Nissan as they have been excellent for us, this thing has every bell and whistle and then some!

I've changed seat springs on my Toro riding mower because they were too strong and I made a sprung seat for my tractor because it had none.

Kelly…. Where did you find different springs? I should try that first. Incorporating a shock seems a good idea to me.

Steve, my wife also said I should get something we can travel in.  But I'm thinking of going the other way, sell my Land Cruiser and get a sports car.  The LC, though reliable, is from up north and very rusty, needs some things like exhaust and shocks and only gets 13mpg max.  Not sure the wife is thinking sports car but I am.   Maybe I can also stop being the 'airport' guy.   Rich

Good idea. There’s a “small engine repair” guy not far from me with a mowe bone yard out back. I’ll start there!

Years ago, when we built the replica WW1 Douglas side car rigs for a Canadian Regiment, I installed aftermarket shock/spring units for a cb400F under the rear of the side car. They gave a lovely ride, for even the lightest passenger. Tempted to use another set for the mower. Adding a shock absorber would be a bonus.
