and if you have a mate with the same model and say his expensive alternator or starter dies you simply swap em over?
you might remember ages ago terry the ranger truck rental mob had ford f100 and f150 box vans etc for hire, well everyone with a ford with an 8 and 3/4 inch diff hired one and swapped over the 9' diff and returned the truck!nyuck nyuck nyuck.

When you could rent Shelby mustangs from Hertz ( I think it was ) they'd often come back with a slightly less challenging motor installed

Too young to remember that but would have been fun!

Charged up the battery in the little mighty max, sat in the drivers seat, threw in a dvd, and fell asleep.

Wife came home from work at midnight, and couldn't find me, took her a half hour, finally heard the music, woke me up and went to bed.

Did I mention I'm on 12 hours shifts 5 days, and 10 on saturdays and sometimes sundey.

So not much time to do crap to anything, house, cars, trucks, or motorcycles.

When I was talking to the lady at the Ford dealership I mentioned that I like the new Mustangs, and she said "Why don't you trade your Territory on one?" I thought, well if I did get a new Mustang I wouldn't need to drive it every day (now that I'm not commuting 1000 miles per week the Territory sits behind the gates apart from it's fortnightly 400 miles round trip to visit my ma) so it might be nice to own another Ford V8 after such a long time............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

It's really expensive Danny, I think I pay around $300(USD) per week? But there are some tax benefits too. ;D

Here leasing a personal vehicle works functionally the same as having a bank loan. The only things that get fixed for free are the ones covered by warranty.

Oh OK, here my employer is technically the borrower and I'm just the driver, but I'm responsible for servicing the loan, plus maintaining a budget for maintenance, tyres, fuel, annual registration and insurance. Because I'm in my third year of the lease and I originally over-budgeted for maintenance, I now have a surplus of funds in the budget, so everything is covered. ;D

My garaj pal brought his (new to him) dvx400 over for a spring time clean up.

Previous owner claimed it was rebuilt with a 440 stroker kit, and modified the intake and exhaust.  While we can't be sure of which parts are inside.  A carb clean, new float bowl gasket, and lift/shim of the needle really brought the thing to life.

Looking good Dave, I used to sell "Kitten" wheel cleaner at the servo I worked at, it was sh1t hot, just melted brake dust, road grim, bugs, tar, etc. I haven't used it in years, I wonder if you can still get it?

I gave the wife's Hyundai it's 5 yearly engine oil and filter change today. I say "5 yearly" because I can't remember when I last did it, but it might have been that long ago. It came out as black as black could be, but they're terrific engines, and just like women, you gotta treat them mean, to keep them keen............. ;D

good job looks neat gtm what motor is in that?well that's a lot more fun than my wifes daggy Hyundai,i did that service today, been just over 12 months, the el-cheapo coolant I had used had gone totally clear in 24 months so I convinced my wife ill get the proper stuff this time, still had 3 litres of castrol oil from last service left over but was 800ml short so dumped in Castrol rx diesel,im sure the cat convertor wont complain even if I used it for a complete fill.

Started changing the spark plugs on my f150 with the Triton motor. I had what I thought was belt squeak, but turns out it was air whistling past a broken section of the plug. (horrible design) Broke 1 so far getting them out too. I hate this truck!

Sold the yfz470 stroker to afford updates for my namesake DS650 baja.
Some of the parts have started to arrive.  New ignition unit, 15t sprocket, and adjustable control arms!
Will make a dakar rally champion of it yet!

Got 2 trucks sitting in the back yard that need of serious love.

Just too darn frustrated to go out there and mess with them due to the #2 exhaust pipe is cold on my CB350four.

Also wanted to attend TGhe Meltdown, and could not get things going right to drive up there.

So, stuck here, so I casn go out and figure the cold pipe out.
