I can do better, have this one now, I'm hoping it takes standard spokes, these suffered in the barn. I wish I could buy that goodyear slick new today.

I'm guessing that stock spokes will be too long Don. I've got a Borrani 18" rear rim with the raised spoke flange like that one, and had to buy CB750K7 (17" rim) spokes to lace it to a CB750 rear hub. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

The way the rim looks,as the angle of the way the spokes are laced to the rim spoke holes,it's possible that that particular rim was originally designed for a larger O.D. rear brake hub than the one it's now attached to;although it's still able to be laced-up ok and work well.

The look of the spoke nipple holes gives me a little concern. The spoke hole appears large and the angle unperfect so you may be correct. The best part is that it is spoked now so I can take a couple of them off for ID. If 17" spokes work, it would be cool because the 750 A spokes come with nipple washers.
I also got a 16" hog rim with all of the spokes on the same side of the hub. Too bad it sat in the barn for so long. The tire on it is about 5 1/4" wide.

After the first of the year I'm pulling the 3rd member out of the firebird, swapping the gears to 3:89 with the 31 spline positrac and all new bearings. That ratio should play well with the turbo 400 and OD.  While it's apart I'm putting the full court press on getting the exhaust tig welded and finished.

Since I haven't even started on my cb550 (first bike) I figured I would post here. I'm typically a car guy and have 5 early fox mustangs. I've been cutting and welding up some patch panels on this '79 pace car. This is the newest acquisition. I have a completed/restored pace car, 79 cobra, 82gt, and an 82 capri as well. I moved this car to the front of the line because it's not too far from being a running/driving project.

I got it in late 1970, since became friends with the PO. As expected, he forgot to mention when his wife hit a fire hydrant in it. Thought it had factory air, when you tie into a project like all of the warts come out. My wife likes a green/gray color I'm leaning towards charcoal gray with dark silver Z28 style stripes, over T/A body panels.

In Fall 1971, both my brothers custom-ordered their 1972 Mach I Mustangs the same week. It took 10 weeks to get them. One brother had his completely restored in 1996 in his Van Nuys, CA neighborhood (it had the dual Ram-Air hood with dual exhausts and could run 170+ MPH, which he did twice in the 1980s), and it lasted 2 days before it was stolen and disappeared. The other brother still has his: 11 years ago it quit running (squarebore quad problems, couldn't find another one) so he started into resto: 2 years ago he finally got it done and found both a NOS power steering pump and a NOS squarebore quad for it. That one has the Cleveland 351W and he added the Ram-Air package (that is a lot of parts!) and dual exhaust. He lives in Missouri now, drives it to our favorite boyhood haunts where we used to live there as boys. At that same time (1971) I ordered my factory-custom-built 1972 El Camino with 402 CID/365 HP & Cowl Induction Hood, Muncie 4-speed, positrac, air suspension with custom light alloy wheels: biggest POS in my whole life! In 13 months I drove it 37k miles, had it in Chevy's shop with engine out 2 times for dumping oil all over my driveway constantly, it ate 4 power-steering belts and 2 sets of tires, and got 4 MPG (honest! 4 MPG!) in city driving in wintertime. I drove it to Florida (from IL where I lived then) in 12/72 and got a high of 12 MPG in florida, 9-10 MPG the whole rest of the trip, with a 17-gallon tank. I parked it in 1/1973 and sold it to the first guy to come to the door with cash-in-hand, got 30% of what I'd paid Chevy for it. Never again...
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

I have a 351 Cleveland block at the house. I've had several of them over the years and planned on building them, but always changed my mind. I'm going to actually do it some day. They're absolute screamers when built right. Nothing like the sound of a hot Cleveland revving to 8 grand!
