Well done Dave, I saw a rusty HQ Kingswood going for $7K on FB and remember when I could have bought a 5 year old LS Monaro for $1600, your Prem is probably worth >$50K now! ;D

Ha ha, I don't think anyone would know what a slide rule is nowadays Dave, my old man had one and tried to teach me how to use it but I wasn't that interested, and he wasn't that patient. Yep I should have kept my XR, XY, XA, XB, XC, LC GTR Torana, HG Monaro, Mazda RX2 Coupe, etc, but most of them would have rusted into the ground if I'd stored them outdoors, and I've never had garage space for a car.

My dad's 1984 XF wagon is covered in an inch of dust in the garage at Mum's place and Ma want's me to wash it, but I explained that the only rust it has in it now is because before he died, I thought I'd do Dad a favour and put it thru the car wash then parked it back in the shed when it was wet.

God knows what I'm gonna do with it when Ma leaps off her mortal coil, like all cars of the 60's-80's, as soon as it's parked out in the rain it'll rust itself into oblivion. ;D

Well Spring has sprung here in Texas altough it feels like Summer as high temps are expected to be near 100 all week.

The grass was getting kinda long, havent even though much about my lawnmower but it was time to bring it out of it's storage area under the porch...

Prolly hasnt been used in over 7 months, regret not at least covering it now!  Checked the fuel tank, it was bone dry, I dont recall running it dry so what little was in there must have evaporated. I've only used non-ethanol fuel in it, and refilled it with non-eth.  And it started first pull, I was very happily surprised!
Decided to clean it up a bit....

I’ve been struggling to find a set of original wheels for my little Mitsubishi Triton truck. Most folks threw them away and put bigger wider rims on them, so there are tons of 15/16/17 inch mag wheels around but no 14 inch “Steelies”. I spotted a couple new FB ads for “Triton Wrecking” last night and a guy with a scrap metal yard called me this morning and told me that he has a set of 4 without tyres (suits me, I’ll put new tyres on them) for $25 each. Considering that I was expecting to pay as much as $2K for new wheels and tyres, I’m a happy boy. ;D

Fitted a “new to me” spreader to the old MF. Electric motor needed bearings and the PO managed to strip the set screws holding the “spinner” to the shaft and the shaft to the motor. Turned up a slightly larger coupler and tapped in some decent sized, steel screws. All worked well, so we loaded up about 700 lbs of mixed seed (four or five fills of the hopper) and spread it over all our hay fields.

Last week we planted almost 30 acres of Soy Beans, so busy “farming” season. Went Racing the Lexus on the weekend, but bikes are getting ignored. Plan to get the K1 out this week.

Went to my favorite store.

I was there on Wednesday Greg, but didn't see you there? Ever since I bought my little truck I've been searching for a set of OEM wheels. Because it's 25 years old and not a Toyota or a Ford, there aren't many around, and because owners threw away the original rims and installed mags, it's taken me since Easter to find a set.

This week I found a set at a local wrecking yard, with "as new" tyres for 300 beans, and I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough, considering that I'd been casting the net as far afield as Sydney and Brisbane if I couldn't find any here. Gotta love wrecking yards! ;D

Nice wheels Terry!

Thanks John, it was really bugging me as I couldn't get a Roadworthy certificate (so I can transfer the registration into my name) without those wheels, and I couldn't find a set anywhere. They're nothing special, but I won't be swapping them out in the next 20 years that I intend to keep that little truck. ;D

Through the front fenders on my MG that has been parked in my sister's driveway since November 2014, loaded on a trailer and moved it to storage. The photo doesn't show it, but is also got a new good quality cover on it.

The main stiffener piece that runs along the center of the sill is still there. All that is missing is the outer sill, which isn't structural. I finished the driver side years ago and the floor and tunnel have always been solid, so no risk of folding in this case.

The roadster is much more susceptible to that than the GT. I still need to do sills on the 72' GT and the right side sill on the 71' GT. If I don't do it soon I never will.

I am close to a hard decision about the MG and whether I will have the time in the relatively near future to finish the body work and if not do I just want to part it out. It has a factory overdrive transmission and big valve head, both of which are valuable.

I have 2 .060" over 10 to 1 compression motors with ported big valve heads and lightened rods ready to assemble. After cancer treatment I never got back to them and got sucked into bikes again.

I have a GM 2.8 V6 from a Fiero and a Camaro T-5 sitting in my garage that I bought to swap into my car. The stock engine is pretty tired and a full rebuild is easily the cost of the engine swap and would still have a lot less horsepower.

I'm always surprised at how cheap MG's are here. I nearly bought my ex-brother in law's 1969 MGB in 1981 when my sister had their second child. He'd bought it in 1974 for $2K with an insurance payout after his GT Falcon had been stolen, so he offered it to me for $2K, but as I was getting married in a few months I had to say no. It was a great little car, really well balanced and sat flat around corners, and I remember sitting in the hole behind the seats @ 110 MPH, which was plenty fast for an MGB. I don't have anywhere to park one undercover or I'd buy one, I often see them for only a few thousand dollars here. ;D
