Looks great Dave, and nothing wrong with the old "Star" spray guns, they were cheap, but good. I reckon I've painted 20 or 30 cars with mine. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Nice trailer, it took me a couple smashed taillights before I armor plated mine. I ran the wiring in SO cord (like an extension cord) inside the frame with grounds on both sides and never had wiring trouble.

I hooked the dually to the race trailer and aired up all of the tires. Recent tires make a big difference, all were within a couple pounds of where they were last fall. I didn't fire up the car however, I'll hope it warms up well at the track.

I went and got my Honda Civic from my buddy today. He's had it since December did an oil change blew out the air filter and put windshield wipers on it. 8 hour drive tomorrow to the beach.
Where I've gotten used to riding the motorcycle and driving my 61 having power steering brakes and a short clutch feels so odd to me right now.

It was pissing down rain all day yesterday, so no ride. No biggie, drove the twin turbo Subaru beastie over to the pharmacy and on to the hardware store just to give it a run, then when I got home I took the little truck for a 50 miler. It runs great but I was really pissed off that the right side indicator was flashing at double time indicating (pun intended) that the blinker globe had blown, or worse, the soldered repair that I'd done on the earth wire for the front right blinker had somehow come adrift?

Fark. It was a pain in the arse to do as I only had a tiny amount of wire before the blinker socket so while it appeared to have worked well when I did it a couple of weeks ago, I guessed that it had fallen apart? I was thinking about doing a trip to the wrecking yard to see if that old truck that I scored the headlight off had a blinker assembly that I could harvest, but as it was pissing down rain I decided to go home and fix it later. I had an otherwise trouble free drive, without too many right hand turns to worry about the dodgy blinker. I got home, reversed it down the driveway and got out to confirm my suspicion that my work on the front right blinker had failed, and I was happy to see that in fact all that was wrong was the rear blinker globe had blown. Sweet, I'll pick up some globes when I go for a ride today. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Your fish eye problem is contaminate from the rags...likely a silicone in the rag leached out when cleaning off the bad paint...

The primer looks good Dave, you didn't need to wipe the poorly matching paint off though, you should have used it as a base coat. No biggie though, the SC matched paint isn't perfect but it's close, and covers very well, I painted an entire fender for my oldest boy's Ford Exploder and it was close. David is correct, the fisheyes are usually caused by silicon contamination, (although oil can cause a similar effect) it could be that you didn't remove some old polish, silicon lubricant, even WD40 etc. ;D

They said it could take two to three weeks, hopefully it begins first thing Monday morning.

I now see what work I got to look forward too.

My steering is worn out at the same area.

Will be ordering a new gearbox soon as I recover from this rotator surgery.

I searched the part numbers and was able to order the two pieces I need. Shaft (the bottom pinion gear is integral) and the “D” shaped crown gear. About $150 with taxes and shipping.

It probably is, but I’d never use Turpentine on anything but enamel, it doesn’t play nice with acrylic lacquer like Dave will be using. Lots of wax and grease remover and a clean rag. ;D
