Cougar, you got a great deal on that 960, they are great cars, I Owned mostly 240s , had one 940 sedan and didn’t care for it. I wouldn’t touch a 740, too many issues as they age. The fuse relay box being a known weakness. The 240 fuse box required yearly or bi-yearly cleaning for best results but super easy to do with the open design of that fuse box.

Thanks it's been a lot of fun people think it's a slow and heavy but it's actually light and will get you to 100mph pretty quick! I upgraded the suspension with sport tuned Koni struts and eibach springs and it handles great! I love it when they can't shake me in the tight turns and then pass them in a 28 year old Volvo!

Today we got the middle diamond plate deck piece fitted after I got the four side marker light holes cut out again because of the move required by the new bigger fenders. Tomorrow we'll fit the rear piece of diamond plate and then move the trailer into the shop for the final welding. We also picked up the new bigger, higher load range 225/75-15 tires to replace the 205/75-14 tires.

There are four side marker lights on the side rails. We had to move the lights right in front of and behind the fenders since we put on larger fenders. I'll get a better shot of the lights later.

I gave my 1995 Subaru Liberty (Legacy in the US) an oil change, 2 years and 2000 miles after the recommendation on the last service label. Now in my defence, I did top it up in May last year but haven't checked it since, so I was a tad surprised when I dumped the old oil into an empty container, and realised that there was probably only 2 litres of oil that came out of it? It doesn't leak, and doesn't blow smoke, but somehow it consumes oil. Oh well, I guess I better check it a tad more often..... ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Early last week i loaded up my truck and hitched the trailer with my GS1000 in it to head off for a 200 mile trip north to spend a week at a friends new place he has built. 40 miles or so into my journey I hit a little road construction on the highway with some stop and go and the truck started acting up. Frickin left front caliper was sticking and things were getting hot. Got off and babied it home on some back roads letting it cool down. Well a trip to the parts store for a fix and did a repeat the next day and all has been good since.
This should really be in the pissed off thread because while I was doing the caliper I was in a weird position on the ground and while I was really stretching for a tool on the ground something in my left side rib cage popped and is still hurting at times more then 10 days later.  Great way to start a motorcycle and fishing vacation !!  ;D ;D  Nobody said getting older was going to be fun.  ;)

My JEEP is exhibiting the same symptoms from the LF. I could put this in the “pissed off posts”. I think this will be the third or fourth caliper I replace in the past 3-4 years! Are they designed to seize?

I don't trust what some auto supply stores call "remanufactured".  >:(
I would rather purchase a New caliper,if the vehicle is a 'keeper'.

We've found that having more than just the front and rear side marker lights makes the trailer much easier for the morons to see at night. On this trailer there's 3 amber and 1 red marker light on each side of a 12' trailer.
I'm familiar with those marker lights being all the way fore and aft of each end of the sides of a trailer.

I built a long and low and light tilt bed trailer to haul our two jr dragsters on, behind our 86 monte carlo, it just had two side markers. We were towing one night close to home and a guy backed out of a driveway almost hitting the trailer as we passed. I added a bunch of reflectors and side marker lights after that.

I replaced the starter solenoid on the 70 Camaro V8 in my 40 chevy coupe. It cranked great except when it just clicked. I already replaced the 14 year old Optima battery and cleaned the cable ends. This starter is numbers correct for the small hp 350 and my spare starter is a high torque # correct for a 73 big block Corvette. I saved it.
Next up is a new steering shaft for it, the vintage street rod u joints are getting sloppy.

Well after doing the oil change in my old Subaru on Sunday and seeing only 2 litres of used oil coming out of the engine, just to make sure that there wasn’t some old oil hiding somewhere to cause an overfull condition, instead of putting 4 litres of fresh oil into it I decided to only put  3.5.

Yesterday when I got home from work I checked the oil level and yep, it was down around half a litre from full so I topped it off. That means that my little Subaru drank 2 litres of oil in around 14 months and 5000 miles. I did some googling and discovered that Subarus are well known for using oil and not letting the driver know until the engine sh1ts itself. Anyway, no harm done, and lesson learned, check the oil more often….. ;D

Today we got the trailer into the shop to start welding down to diamond plate deck pieces. The front plate is tacked down good and the middle plate is partially tacked down. Tomorrow we'll get the back piece tacked down and start finishing up the welding.

So do Holden VE Commodores!  It's common with a lot of modernish motors.  The manufacturers promote the vehicle's good fuel economy, which is (in part) obtained by using lean burn and very light weight oils (VE Commodore uses 5W-30).  I'm in the habit of topping up the oil every 1000 km or so.

Yes it does. I am also stitch welding the deck to the support grid underneath. It should be a couple more days and it will be done

I’ve never owned a Commodore Trevor, I had a new 2000 model company car and thought that it was the best car I’d ever driven, and I’d love to find a mint “one owner” SS Commodore because I missed out on one going cheap in 2015. The problem is that a few years ago they became cheap and P Platers bought them, so most are dead nowadays. It’s a pity, they really were a nice car. ;D
