Replaced the original battery in my 2012 Corvette. Only got 11 years out of it! WTF?! No tender use while gone either

Hey Jerry...thats amazing!  Battery on the C6 is under the hood, right?  Any issues with the ECU booting back up if the old battery was dead dead?

Congratulations on a successful outing with great results! You got your groove back!
Really cool first event for the team.
So, how much you owe the wife for racing on Mother's Day?
David

One of the guys that races on another Team is a florist. He set up a special we all bought into, deliveries on Saturday afternoon. We all scored some extra points!!

Brake job on the '18 Soul.  Turned out to be just front pads.  I briefly thought it needed rotors, too, but that was from misreading the spec.  Older ones put more mass in the rotor. Routine... not exciting.

Finished the brake upgrade on the "ol' Chevy".  Upgraded the four Delco calipers, pads, hard lines and [Goodyear!] rubber hoses, then was able to bleed it after the blocked hoses were replaced. Was only able to take it for a short test drive before the thunder and pouring rain set in.

That's me as long as it's rolling. I'd prefer not a Ford, hell I've had a good time in one of those even!

Brewed up a full tank of two stroke gas for the Yamaha G1 golf cart. Steering box was dry, so greased up the front wheel bearings and king pins too...... G’kids are coming for the weekend, the cart will get no rest! Amazing device, soaks up all the punishment and keeps on running.

This is a first. The central blade on the cutting deck was loose. Turns out the bolt was worn wafer thin. I had to weld a rod to it to get it out.

The top belt is quite long;do you expect it to stretch much ?

Not really, I just replaced the original set of belts. I bought the mower with 44 hours on it in 2011.

This is a first. The central blade on the cutting deck was loose. Turns out the bolt was worn wafer thin. I had to weld a rod to it to get it out.

Blades on the Kubota deck are held down by a bolt and two big concave washers.  Concave to provide preload for better holding.  Over the time they go flat and the preload decreases.  Yesterday, I solved it in pure redneck style.  Using a hitch ball and BFH I renewed the concavity for all the washers.  It should be good for quite few more years.

I received a set of radiator baffles from classic car parts for the Firebird. They close off the area above the radiator to keep the air going where it needs to. My car didn't come with them since it's not a factory AC car. It will be now.
I'm going out to give them a test fit to determine if I need clip on nuts or whatever.  Sometimes you think shipped parts are overpackaged but the end of one panel was poked through the inside box.

It crossed my mind that I could use my new hydraulic press to do it, but bfh was quicker and good enough.

Went to see the wife of a guy that raced with us a lot, +25years ago. He’s not doing so well and she is “cleaning house”. I may end up with my final project…..

Very early 1956 Porsche Speedster. He did a lot of metal work 20 years ago. Tub is all rebuilt, fresh steel, in primer. Everything else needs done. “Some assembly required”!
