Thanks Bill, all wheel drive and 300 BHP to the wheels. Absolute hoot to drive, pisses of guys in V8’s, and better fuel mileage, not to mention dead flat cornering. Being a Subaru you never know when it’s gonna explode, but if it does I’ll rebuild it with bigger turbos.
My machinist buddy loves Subaru's. He makes a good living rebuilding Subaru heads. In Seattle they are popular cars and there's several Subaru specialists in the area. I've walked in to his shop and seen the entire receiving bay floor covered with heads to rebuild. Like you said "you never know when it's gonna explode".
Yep, sad but true mate. Years ago I read that Subaru made cars similar to european cars and thought it was a compliment before I discovered what sh1tboxes euro trash cars are. Hard to believe that BMW cars and bikes are made by the same company, as the cars are so crap, as are Mercedes, Audi's, Volvo's, Saab's etc. Still, it's a little rocket when it's running well, so I still love it, but it's certainly not a Honda, not that Honda cars are particularly inspiring either.
I'm going to drive it 200 miles to visit my Ma the day after Christmas, and I'm just praying that it doesn't let me down, there are some great backroads for driving it like it was designed for, but there's never a guarantee that it'll make it. Maybe I should buy a Camry as a daily driver, and just keep the little beast for weekend fun....
