Topic: What did you do to your non-motorcycle vehicle today?

Took my "Ol Chevy" to the Main St Car Show in Taylor Texas.  It's an annual show that typically attracts around 600 cars. The weather forecast last Sat called for 70% chance of thunderstorms, but they ended by 4am and roads were dry by 9, but attendance was way down.



The car ran great but I have a little "shimmy" at 55mph, but is good at 70-80, and more fun!.  I believe it's tires, going to have them rotated & balanced.



Parked near my buddy, he drove his near immaculate '71 Camaro with a Big Block 454.  Love that car but they dont seem to get the love they deserve, like the first gen Camaros ['67-69]. I may be partial as my best friend in HS had a '72.

 Thanks Steve, in 1973 I saw it at the truck stop where my wife worked, I told her to see how much they wanted for it and when I got home it was in my driveway. Apparently, several relatives and his boss had ordered it gone.
 It had only one piece of rear glass that was good to use, 3 wheels, no interior, no wiring, no engine or trans, 46 total leaves in the 4 springs, 1/2" of the rear shock shaft was shiny the rest was rusted. It did have a typewriter shifter from a mopar hanging off the dash.
 One day I realized what David Freiberger says, don't get it right, just get it running. You can get it right later. I built the 350 in the early 80's, it's mostly an L79 327 except 355 cubic inches. steel crank, forged pistons, pink rods, corvette oil pan etc. The 4 speed was a Muncie parts counter 4 speed that lived in a 35 ford first. For whatever reason I'm fond of the Mallory coil but that keeps me from using an msd. I'm told they don't multi spark very well.

Coolant leak on the Volvo C30 was starting to leave a small puddle, so got into it. 1/2 a day later (after pulling the airbox, battery, ECU, and a host of wires and pipes, found a cracked, molded “Tee” in one of the main lines. Waiting for the pipe!

Auto Zone and Parts Source came back with some ridiculous pricing. Strangely, Volvo Canada was by far the best price and they appear to have them….. Still about US$50 and a few days before it arrives.

You are lucky to know the shop owner and the mechanic so you got the job done  for a low cost!

Per….. Surprisingly I like working on the C30. Most of it makes sense and is very well assembled. I’ve also never owned another Volvo so it’s “different”.

 I pulled the harmonic balancer off of the 40 Coupe, apparently the vacuum sealing job I did on the front of the pan worked well, now it's only the grooved balancer and front cover seal leaking. The balancer is failing a little, so I'll replace it as well as installing the new 2-piece front cover. If the rubber wasn't failing on the balancer, I'd just put a sleeve on it.

 We moved the date of our cruise because the Street Rod Nationals 45 miles away doubled up on our old date, that morning it rained hard and lightning hit the radio station two blocks away knocking out downtown power for a few hours. We were way short on cars.
 You gotta love a pretty Vette, a split bumper Camaro or an old truck.
