Folks,

Yossef had a minor accident with his bike, but unfortunately, he broke his leg.
He underwent surgery today and so far so good, but most probably he'll need a couple of months to fully recover.

He will definitely appreciate the community support so feel free to reach him out. PM me if you need phone number or email.

No, not during a race. He was going back home Monday evening when he slipt at low speed (bike has no damage). Most probably due to cold wet asphalt he lost the front wheel...a classic basically :-(

tnxs for the posts guys! it's just not that minor..... this must be some sort of Guinness book record for maximum damage for the slowest speed... i mean a broken tibia an fibula for a 15 mph spill sucks quite a bit. foot got caught between bike and road and then twisted. no other damage other than the snapped bones.

i usually go to work by bicycle but this very day i had to do the medical test for the renewal of my racing license so needed to go downtown fast. did that, got back to work. it happened in my the 2 mile ride between my office and my house

Yesterday i was so damned pissed with the idiocy of it all that i hardly slept, today im better off. even seen the area where they put this 8" Titanium plate, quite impressive....

Hospitals are dangerous.
Maybe they will mix up with another person and cut something or start to parting out the organs....

not be laughed about... would you believe the doc actually made an X with the pen on the leg to be operated? "to avoid any mistakes" he said...

3 weeks gone, another 3 to remove the cast,
tomorrow getting the skin staples off....

using the crutches more now, so things are slightly better

It sounds like there may potentially be a further complication and Yossef is naturally more than a little concerned. It's early though & hopefully more healing time brings improvement.

He is understandably feeling blue so some encouragement from his SOHC4 buddies surely can't hurt.

in other words, it's not like i have a rossi like $$$$$ contract to respect, so i will go back racing only after i have a really clean bill of health for my lower leg. I know rossi climbed back in his M1 after 24 days of his crash, but i dont have the support of yamaha motor corp behind me neither the private nurses to pamper me....

i am 99% sure that im going to wait a year till they remove the 8" Ti plate in my shin. Dont want to take any risks with it still inside as any slight mishap that could bend it would be a VERY painful affair....

Really hard to know at the moment how fully i can recover, there seem to be some nerve issues that are hard to quantify now. I need to start walking, do phisio and then take it from there.

Hang in there TG. Nerve damage can take a while to sort out. I had serious damage after my saw accident, and while not perfect most has finally come back.

they dont seem to bother taking the plates out over here , i still have seven left in me !
long bones tend to heal well its joints that are the problem , joints and nerve damage can be a real pain

Hang in there pal. Look on the bright side, you’ll have an extra year to put extra effort into your cb500 racer. Nearly all the people who tried to get back on the horse before really being fit to ride have come to regret it. Come back stronger for the long term, spend some time in the gym if possible to strengthen everything up, and you’ll be in fine fighting form for the 2019 season.

And actual racing is an amateur sport for us, but for BENCH racing, many of us have gone pro😄😄
