A good old Honda man gone from down under.
« on: March 21, 2018, 04:41:30 AM »
Well it's been a sad week for the owners of old Japanese bikes here in Cairns, far North Queensland, Australia.

On Monday morning we lost a very knowledgeable local bike mechanic, Brett Cattana, to a traffic crash.

Brett has for many years operated a small independent motorcycle repair business in Cairns and had a well deserved reputation as something of a guru when it came to Japanese bikes. He was particularly fond of the CB750 and rode a nice K2 as his daily transport.

He fettled my K7 last year and got it running like a new one.

Brett and his wife Lorraine were tragically killed in a collision between their car and a truck about 300 miles to our south on Monday morning as they were driving home after a trip away.

Those in the old bike hobby here are sure going to miss his expertise and gentlemanly nature.

RIP Brett and Lorraine.

Russ.

Geez Oz,

I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know Brett and his wife, but it sounds as if your community up there will miss them.

My condolences to you all.
