Painted CB400F tank from Taiwan.
« on: March 15, 2018, 10:34:28 AM »
I stumbled upon this Taiwanese site while looking for a tank for my CB400F. I have a tank, but it's going to need a lot of dent repair and paint. I don't think I could get it done for what this site sells tanks for. Does anyone have experience with them? Their product offering is mostly gas-cap fuel gauges and late-model lights. And CB400F tanks.

Did you already look at Yamiya?

It's a lot more but you have to wonder why the one you linked is so much cheaper?

That isn't cheap by any means with the US exchange rate, shipping and HST you will be looking at $825.00 Canadian landed here. Can you say OUCH? I would look at a small body shop that will work for cash, as that is what I found on a recommendation from a CVMG member.

The one I had done was $350 including all body work and paint on both the tank and side covers. I supplied the paint though and the body shop supplied the primer and clear coat materials in that price. I used Caswells Canada for two pints of POR15 gas tank liner for another $50.00 total shipped to my door. I also have the decals which also saves a little on the tank and side covers costs. So if you allow another $100 for the paint from NAPA and the decal kits that's still only $500, well below that $825. figure.

That Yamiya is just silly expensive at over $700US ($1150 + Canadian landed all in) you would need a second mortgage on the bike.  :)
