Has anyone bought parts from partsnmore.com?
« on: March 19, 2018, 05:53:00 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I am trying to buy good Float Needle & Seats for my cb350f carbs.

I've been looking around the web and it seems like anywhere you go to by float needles and seats is a gamble. If you don't decide to pay the large amount for the original Honda ones.

Has anyone bought float needle and seats from partsnmore.com for a cb350f carb?
or has a good recommendation for float needles and seats?

The ones on 4into1 .com that are available for the cb350f are replicas and customer service said in the past they have had problems but recently not.. I don't want to gamble with that.

These from partnmore.com say oem and made in japan.. I don't know the validity of this though.

Original Honda float needles and seats will outlast any aftermarket part. Aftermarket might work, might not. Honda parts work the first time. Some things are suitable for aftermarket sources, but since I don't like working on carbs in the first place (too many variables) I tend to eliminate as many variables as possible. I've used aftermarket float needles in the past and was pulling the carbs back out a week later.

Honda parts may be more expensive, but peace of mind is priceless. I have used Parts-n-more for some parts, just not carb parts.

+1.   Are you sure you need new needles and seats?  I have successfully re-used them on 4 sets of carbs.

Bought needles and seats from partsnmore for various bikes and never had a problem. It's a very basic part anyone can reproduce and they are as good as OEM items. I'd clean the old ones first, set the float level , check for leaky float chambers and dirty fuel. I'd be more concerned with if they had rubber needle tips or not regardless to what the bike came with.

You would think so, but sadly no. I have seen many aftermarket float needles that are obviously shorter than stock when compared side-by-side. Genuine Honda needles are maybe $10 more each, $40 isn't nothing, but float levels are important and the extra $40 to make my carbs easier to get right.
