Topic: New Cycle X Cam Chain Tensioner

Not sure if this was already discussed but was just wondering your guys opinions on the new Cycle X cam chain tensioner. Look like it adds much more support then their last version. Anyone used one yet?

I talked to Kenny about it and almost bought one but I have the Cappelini one going in my racer. It gives a gentle curve to the chain and supports more linkswhich are very good things at high RPM. Go for it. Kenny is a top notch guy to deal with.

Thanks for the replies Slik and Bill. I agree 100% with the points you guys made. I'm gonna order one up in the next few days but I wont put it to use for the next month or two. I think it will be a better choice over the Ebay unit I was gonna use for the turbo engine.Overkill probably but I hope to seal the cases and never see inside again.

i'm not a 750 guy, but this is the first aftermarket 750 tensioner that makes any sense to me.  my only comment is that i would use it together with a flat plate chain rather than the 8 shaped shown for more slding surface

Does seem like a big upgrade to me too. I'm driving with the Cappellini for now but I trust Kenny's is a great option. The oval chain side plates current makes sense too.

No matter what tensioner, always the reinforced chains with the straight plates. Stronger and better for any guide surface.........

guz, i think that figger 8 is only there to show a visual of contact, but i could be wrong

was talking about the shape of the chain links side plates, not the cut-off tensioner.... flat vs. 8 shape, see attachment
