I strung my XR up to the garage rafters like a gutted hog so I could replace both tires at the same time. I ordered two Duro 400x19 vintage track style tires that are fairly decent looking both in quality and appearance. The 400x19 size is not the most popular with suppliers but because of the Ural side hacks using that size they are becoming somewhat easier to find. I went over to my buddie's shop and used his tire machine and balancer since he ordered the tires for me. Here are some pictures of both the bike and the new tires.

Last Sunday I went to a flat track get together at the Moto Talbott Museum in Carmel. I had just about the only street tracker there, alll the other bikes were pretty much hard core racers including a Honda factory 750 and a Yamaha former Kenny Roberts bike. These were bikes that guys just brought in for the day. The bikes that are on permanent display are pretty impressive too. I'll be going back for a better look at the permanent stuff one of these days. If anybody is going to be in the Carmel area this place is well worth seeing.

You are right. That was a 70 or 80 size bike that someone had spent quite a bit of time converting to an XR appearing machine. I thought it was kind of neat and an attention grabber.
