Above and beyond duty. That man voluntarily put himself in harm's way with the almost certain knowledge it would not end well. Big respect.

I agree, it's what we do in life, not about duration or survival. This good man was also clever enough to bring in his mobile phone with an open line to his fellow officers to help them to understand what was going on inside the building. Clever and professional.

I'm not always a fan of the police as they tend to impinge upon my selfish wonts, but in this case it's simply hats off to them.

May  God rest his soul.

I didn't get to read the full story,  I certainly hope that all the isis bastards died a slow and painful death !

Man... I am so sorry to hear this... he is a true inspiration to each of us. We might think about what we would do in such a situation... he is a brave man. I respect his courage and decision to trade his life for others... reminds me of a Man Who did this for each of us, a long time ago.

More on this : http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-43531272

This is about 90 mins from where I live and I know the area well. That makes it a bit more real and reinforces the point that it could be any of us tomorrow.

Yeah Kev as we mature we begin to see that not all cops are bad, there are some that put their duty above themselves, for them I have much respect, if I was there when the procession went past I would come to attention and stay that way until it went past, something by the way I wouldn't do for 99.999% of humanity, no make it about 100 people throughout history.
