Topic: Accelerator pump fuel hose restrictors

  I'm rebuilding the carbs on by '76 750a (PD44A) and was reading through this thread http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=146893.0 . I did not realize the accelerator pump hoses between the carbs had restrictors in them and I discarded the hardened old hoses. I searched and can't find a source for these. I assume it's just a tiny brass tube that presses into the hose. Does anyone know a source for these parts? What will happen if I don't use them?

I would assemble and test. I think they mainly reduce the amount of fuel volume in the system. Basically less mass for the tiny diaphragm to push. But you could try without and see what kind of stream you get. I think others have tried with success

Excellent info. Thank you. If I cut some from tubing, any idea how long they should be? Does it matter? If it's just a flow restrictor, I don't think it would matter, but if it's a volume reducer, I guess it could.

I actually ran it for awhile without them, but there were always compromises and I'm starting over from scratch. I can't say if the absence of restrictors affected the rideability issues. It's been so long since I rode this bike, I couldn't even describe the issues it had now.
