Vendetta? Lol.

Anyway, I'm just a strong believer in community and you don't #$%* on those inside your community. I can't defend every motorcycle builder out there but I saw this thread and I am defending these guys because I'm a fabricator and I know the effort that went into it. It's far from #$%* and I'm going to keep saying so every time someone says it is. I'm just a dick I guess.

You're just as welcome to your opinion as the rest of us!

Just because a fellow fabricator made it seems kind of lame?  <--- Plz don't take as an insult it seems kind of curt, just trying to express myself. ;)

This thread reminds me of my buddy Henry's attempt to build a two-wheel drive bike, similar to a Rokon. His idea was to include two-wheel steering, so as to make it more maneuverable in tight quarters; sort of a two-wheel "rock-crawler". After spending a small fortune on universal joints, sprockets, chains, and pillow-block bearings, the thing was a total failure, developing a death wobble at any speed over 5 MPH. :o He didn't build it because anyone paid him, he built it for the challenge and fun of it, and he knew when it was time to move on to other projects, like the XR 500 powered minibike burn-out machine.  ;D

The coolest part was while on youtube I saw a link to a Corvair powered Harley and that led to seeing a VMW Willis adapter to put a vw engine in front of a beemer trans.

Come on, guys.... Does anybody REALLY believe this thing is "new" and a move ahead??? Considering the serious engineering that goes into today's bikes to make them rideable and excellently handling, this thing is a joke! I don't care how much they time and effort they spent to give it a hub steering front end that Bimota had decades ago. Yes, it belongs into a museum. A museum of weird and useless styling efforts. Not in a motorcycle museum.

If all you have ever done is buy NOS parts and stock parts off eBay you wouldn't understand. But if you have ever had to actually fabricate something with a welder, grinder, and trial and error you would appreciate what they did in a small shop. To compare them to a multi-billion dollar corporation is ridiculous. Of course a factory built bike made by a machine is going to be better in many ways. It's the ability to create and fabricate a working machine that some people appreciate more than store bought stamped by the millions parts. Some people don't have skill to understand.

You don't even know who you are talking to.
I guess when you asked not to bash anyone in the "community", you go by "Do as I say and not as I do". ::)

How is this bashing? Some want stock restored machines where all you do is buy parts. Some make their own. It's not bashing it's truth. Bashing is saying that your stock restoration is #$%* because it is not what I would do.

Mike, I think his post was a general "all you do is buy parts", and not directed at you personally.

I am willing to take this into consideration, but for someone who chastises others for spelling, punctuation and grammar, he could have worded that a little different to take the personal finger-pointing out of it. 8)

..and here is why his comments irked me a little

They weren't aimed at anyone specifically and they are not meant to be an insult. It's just a comment on the difference between some owners and others. It applies to pretty much any hobby.

Understand that I am not going to take #$%* without giving some. That's the way it should be; don't you think?

The more I look at it, the more I think that if it didn't have a CBX engine in it, no-one would care less about it. I've seen better. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
