I'm an ass because I assumed - E-bay Seat cover thread
« on: April 12, 2018, 07:15:04 AM »
All reference to the seller has been deleted by me. I assumed when I looked at the package that the damage was to the top of the cover but the seller has informed me that the damage is to a piece sewn on the inside. Following his recommendation I unpacked it and yes the topside is fine and the damaged section is on the inside. He has offered me a discount if I want to keep it or he would pay for shipping back if I want to swap it out or probably refund. Think I will keep it and give it a try.
As they say when you assume like I did, that it was damaged on the outside without removing it from the package, you make an "ass out of" well you all know the rest.  Might be almost classified as "fake news", sorry.

That's very disappointing, but contact them and see what they say, I hope they will replace it for you with one of better quality or give you a full refund.

Sometimes it a gamble buying from Ebay. You never know who is on the other side of the transaction.
May times i have had success and sometimes failures or scams.

I once bought a beautiful '76 ruby red gas tank for a cb750 and the shipper sent it with gas in it. It leaked and melted the shipping, styrofoam peanut shaped packing things all over the tank. When I got it the Styrofoam dried to the tank like an epoxy and ruined the paint. Took a while but Ebay refunded my money. Ebay protects the buyers pretty good so i would bet you will get a refund, but what a bummer. Good luck.

I bought one from that seller too. I looked at it, but not that hard. I will have to check tonight.

Bet the post office or shipper would have been real happy knowing a leaky gas tank was bouncing around the plane or trucks. What a stupid way for the seller to ruin a nice tank.

I assume its for your F project Danny ? Yes you better look it over well before too much time passes. I was lucky, didn't even have to open or take it out of the bag to see the damage  ;D ;D

it's for a F, but the 550, not the 750. The seat cover on the 750 is in really good shape, no splits or rips.

+2 for gumtwo. I got two covers, one for the cl350 and one for my cl175. 350 ripped, 175 didn't fit (not even close). Ended up shelling out the extra $20 each for a gumtwo cover and they are both perfect.

I humbly ask lookers and viewers to look at my first post for an update. I made an assumption and a comment without first gathering all the facts. Jeez first time in my life that has ever happened   ::)

Eric...nice of you to set the record straight. I have used Gumtwo with good results too. Never heard of the guy you bought from. Wonder if all his 750 stuff is all sewn?

Its a heat pressed cover. Kind of cool as it has a gold Honda logo on the back like the stockers did that year.
