What’s it worth? Disassembled 750K motor
« on: September 19, 2020, 06:42:46 AM »
I really have no idea. I have a complete 75 750K motor, lower end intact and good, top end disassembled. It was brought to a local shop and taken apart for repair but was going to be too expensive so the guy just left it, and it was given to me. It’s been inspected and really just needs to be bored one over, valves cleaned up and put back together. Now somebody wants to buy it. What’s a fair price?
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

Hard to say, it's a little like the "ran when parked" statement. The buyer has no guarantees of anything until a full inspection is done and even then, it's parts, not an engine yet. It can get very expensive very quickly if unseen defects show up, the original owner didn't finish the job for cost reasons. The buyer can't even be sure all the parts belong together.

Check some values for the individual parts such as head, engine cases, etc. It could help you arrive at a price.

In UK that would be £100-200.
4 yrs ago i let a totally unknown complete motor go for £75 to somebody known to me and he was over the moon
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Torn down in pieces I would say $100.00 - 150.00 maybe here in the rust belt to a guy who wants to sink more money in it. Still together running in a parts bike situation more.

I would think $150 would be fair.

Really you would pay more for a together, than an apart you can easily inspect ? I would not..unless the claim run her m even then if they did not run it.. meaningless.
Every second one I crack open has issues..
If a guy is standing there telling you he needs a granny and a head cuz he has fin damage , I be asking at least 250..

My last big move I think I sold a couple for around a hundred one with a no Reggie frame.,  had a motor , nothing from head up, I think bad cases but together, tired to get 40 bux..  no way.. so I sold the top end oil jets and 4 cam suds for around 50 bux.
