Today was an unallocated activity day so got down and dirty with the zzr
Ever since I got the new tank from Italy I've not been able to see how it mounted, today I used logic and lined up the wear marks from the isolating rubbers, the rear bolt holes and ....aha, the front mount doesn't line up, must have got a knock in transit, a few gentle persuasive taps with a number 4 hammer and success, one job done
Next, mix up some coolant 50/50 with water and started pouring it in the filler neck, then ran to get a bucket to catch it as it ran out the bottom of the motor. Let it drain out, replaced the O ring and did up the retaining bolt properly and no leak, another job done
Next fill up the shiny new battery with acid , only problem was it doesn't actually fit in the battery box.....bollocks. minor recompense is it fits the satanic Hyosung that I'm trying to sort for a mate. So job 3 turns out to be sorting another battery rather than fitting the one I've had on the shelf for months
Soooo, next was at least get some oil into it, however it seems that the oil I thought I'd had on the shelf with the battery was actually car oil so there's job number 4, get some proper oil
So, two out of four jobs done, which for me is not a bad average at all
