Look how much work and dough went into this bike. It's a stunning cafe. There isn't a single thing on this CB that hasn't been touched. You could argue that it's not even a CB750 any more.

Ehh is really not that special. Aside from the mono shock which had been done a fair bit, nothing else is particularly unique. Front end is essentially a bolt on as is the seat. Some neat touches but if it wasn't featured in Motorcycle Classics no one would give it the time of day. Far better and unique builds can be found on these pages.

I was sort of thinking same.  The white frame and checkered complex paint will keep it limited for buyers too.  That much money for a custom, there will be few who want that bike versus same and getting one built their way.

That os the trouble with heavy visual modded.  Nobody will pay your build costs if they can take that money and get one built to specs.

It's true that there are many builds here on these forums that are as heavily modified and took as much work, but that's because many of the builders doing the most heavily custom work are members here.

Peruse my vintage speed part mashup thread in my signature. More period and custom parts than many builds here. Far more challenging to seek out parts and refurbish than open your wallet. I'm doing things a lot won't so I think I'm qualified to say of something is unique or not. Different strokes apply of course.

Its a cubic cash build..
 Higher on cash than talent, it appears to me.
 Take the headlights for example. . Is it an improvement performance wise ?  Maybe.
 Does it suit the theme or the rest of the bike, does it help the flow ? Not for me it doesnt..
 It', the headlights and signals....look more like spending cash than carefully selected  planning..

Many builds are something special for the builder/owner only.  People might admire it as technical art but not interested to buy it.

I'm sure that most of the CB750 collectors out there prefer a stock CB750.
Best investment is to find an old stock CB750 in mint condition, nothing replaced. Earlier model, better price.

My bike's 4-4 cost 250.000 yen, who will pay me extra for that? Probably none.
I see many CB750's with no stock tank nor 4-4 and owners want lots of money for it. I see all money it will cost to bring it back to the CB750 glory.
You can spend 1000's of dollars on a bike or car that will not increase the value, maybe opposite, reduce the value. We do all of that because we like it, not for selling it.

It's not a collectible bike, it's a custom.  Owner is probably trying to double his money.But I find most people are into their own project builds, where they get the satisfaction of enjoying something they built themselves.  Cb750 collectors I think want survivor originals.

That said, it's a neat build, aside from the colors, (not what I would choose is all) and I hope the guy sells it.  There hasn't been a good cb750 listed on cl in bham area in a loong time

I built my first and only CB750  cafe racer almost 20 years ago. I dumped so much money and hours upon hours into that bike that there was no way I was going to get out of it what I put into it when I decided to sell it. I wound up parting most of it out and using the rest for another project.

So, when I see a bike like that on eBay, I can't help seeing dollar signs. I doubt he'll get anything near what he hopes or thinks it's worth.

I also see that a lot of thought went into this bike and I appreciate that someone has put to life their vision and executed it well. I would guess that bike would be an absolute blast to ride.

Even if you don't like the looks -- art and beauty being subjective and all that -- you surely can appreciate the effort.

Bigger challenge to it, the payment options.

"Cash in person"  somebody dont want to be taxed and doubt there are many ebay and online shoppers who want to travel to pay and pickup their ebay...

It's got a reproduction Benelli Mohave tank, a fair amount of fabrication, the owner wanted the guy to paint a Rising Sun on the tank, but he deviated into the checkerboard design... He also cut and shaped foam to add fiberglass to the seat to mold it into the tank. Some nice design, and good fabrication, but IMHO not worth 34k. Maybe 20-25k, but hey... The pipes are cool. He used a ZX10 rear shock which is from a dog bone rear suspension, and if he didn't re-spring it for direct mono shock, its probably too stiff and the damping is wrong. He bent new tubing for the rear subframe and welded in gusset plates for strength, and it looks well done. The oil tank had to be modified to fit under the CR carburetors and the mono shock so he made it oval to fit. There is a goodly amount of money and time spent on it. But in the end, it is worth what someone will pay for it! If he can get $34k starting bid, more power to him.
